Snack Attack: Smoky and Spicy Candied Cashews
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 teaspoons coconut oil, melted
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, divided
- 1/4 teaspoon salt, divided
- 2 cups raw cashews
- 2 tablespoons coconut sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- pinch of salt
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk together honey, coconut oil, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Add the cashews to the bowl and coat in the mixture. Pour the cashews on the baking sheet and spread out.
- In a small bowl, mix together coconut sugar, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and salt. Sprinkle the crystal mixture on top of the nuts.
- Bake for 15 minutes, tossing the nuts every 5 minutes to ensure they cooked evenly.
- Remove from oven, slide the parchment paper onto a cooling rack and let cool completely.
- Once the nuts have cooled, break apart the pieces that have stuck together.
