I know it’s not fall temperatures everywhere, but here in Colorado right now it feels BIG TIME like fall. We had multiple days of rain, clouds and much cooler temperatures. I even spent an afternoon packing up my summer shoes and pulling out the boots and booties for the season. Fall is here and I can’t deny it any longer. So it’s time to spruce up the wardrobe, try out different styles, and bring on the muted colors that still stand out in a crowd.

And as you know, I love ModCloth because I can always find unique, high quality clothing that makes me feel confident and beautiful. Just a couple weeks ago I shared an amazing dress and purse combo and changed up my normal look with a very modest one. And this week I decided to continue to think outside the box with my wardrobe and try something new. And this jumper was the perfect piece to add to my wardrobe since I had absolutely nothing like it!

This mustard yellow corduroy jumper feels like a grown-up version of overalls, but with a much cuter twist. And the length is just perfect because it’s not too short but it’s not too long either so you can still show off a little leg. (Just a heads up on the size – I bought mine in a small but it was pretty dang tight around my waist and chest, so going up a size was probably a good idea for this jumper). But if it’s too cold out for bare legs, it would also look adorable with a pair of black tights. And stay even warmer with this grey and white striped sweater or this fitted black turtleneck.

But this simple striped long tee is probably my favorite part about this whole look. Not only because it’s long and goes past the bum, but because it is so comfortable. It’s hard to find a top that hangs past the hips while not clinging to the hips, but this top is that perfect find! And I found a similar tee that comes in 8 different colors and would be adorable with a pair of faux leather leggings and a long cardigan!

I love Modcloth! Every time I spot a Modcloth outfit in your Fashion Friday’s, I’m always hoping there’s a PaleOMG coupon deal attached too!!!!

I love those tall boots with the jumper, it’s a great look. Can you talk a little about choosing boots? While I’m certainly not at your level of fitness, I carry a lot of muscle mass. It’s just how I am. I can’t wear knee-high boots because they won’t go over my calves, but the “wide calf” version are cut for ladies with padding all over and look horrible. Do you ever have that problem? How do you handle it? Do you have trouble choosing other clothing items because of your “Crossfit Physique” or maybe back when you were in hard-core competition mode? I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on finding clothes for a more athletic build.

i wish i could help you out more, but i have pretty much no calves. my genetics just weren’t built for calf muscles i guess lol. 7 years of crossfit and that’s probably the only muscle that hasn’t grown. so i’ve never run into this issue. i’m wondering if the slouchy ones like this would still be an issue? or if there are boots out there that are suppose to fit snug but are made with some sort of stretchy material. sorry i can’t help more! i really wish i did have that problem because i would love some damn calf muscles!

Bahaha, that’s so funny! I wish I could give away some of my bulk sometimes. My husband wants my legs, and I want to be able to find jeans that actually go on! Same issues up top, I have a hard time finding long sleeve shirts because my arms – upper and lower both!!!! – have too much muscle. You haven’t ever had fit problems? Count yourself lucky! Anyway, keep the fun fashion coming, I am living vicariously through you right now since pretty much all I currently wear are farm-mom-clothes!

Laura, just letting you know i too have the SAME FREAKIN’ PROBLEM! Damn these calves!! BUT i will say that if you go up a full size in most boots they can work. I just wear thick socks with them and i’m good in the foot. Also, i just recently bought the Steve Madden ‘Emotions’ OTK boot from Nordstrom and they fit perfectly when i tired them on, but i went a 1/2 size up on rec from the gal helping me because i wanted to wear them with jeans and they fit perfect. they are stretchy in all the right places.

What a cute outfit! What you have on here is my fave! I love that black and white skirt with the black top too, super cute

As someone who freelances and works from home and primarily lives in leggings it’s always fun to wear clothes vicariously through you and your fashion fridays posts! 😉

Hi Juli! This is an odd request, seeing as how you are not interested in having kids, but is there any chance you could put together a blog post for a maternity photo shoot (family photos) that would cover a bump? I’m thinking poufy skirts or dresses or coats, but I don’t even know where to begin. Our pictures are going to be done in the Fall, so it will be cool. I’m at a loss!

lol i think following other bloggers who are actually pregnant would be more helpful. like Cassy from fedandfit.com! or you can search the hashtag #LTKbump on instagram and see all the bloggers who are pregnant and posting outfits right now! i just wouldn’t know what would be the right fit over a belly since i’ve never been pregnant

Love that jumper and prefer it without the belt as you are wearing it. Once again, you sell it better than the model.

    1. juli says:

      awwww thanks, Kate!

Hi, I have been following you for a while. LOVE your blog and insta stories with your pup! Anywho, I was reading the reviews on the jumper and a lot of women are saying it runs small. My question is does this feel snug around your hips? It doesn’t look to be so, but I think I am a little wider in that area than you are. So I can’t decide if I should stick with a small or get a medium. Thank you!

    1. juli says:

no, it didn’t fit too tight around the hips at all, it was snug around the waist like i mentioned. but the hips were fine!

But WHERE are those cute boots from?!
