I hate falling up the stairs. It’s embarrassing.
I went to Omaha, Nebraska over the weekend. It’s humid there. I was sweating more than usual. Which is a lot. Then it was really windy. Which my hair didn’t love. Other than that, Nebraska is nice. I can only say that because it was nice outside and wasn’t snowing. But everyone I talked to there told me to never move away from Colorado. Probably because Colorado is the greatest.
Anywho, I went to Omaha for the boyfriend’s brother’s high school graduation. So great. He’s going to play football in college. How exciting. I might even go to a game or two. Or three. That will be the second football game I’ve ever gone to. I wasn’t one to go to college football games in high school or college. I never knew anyone who was playing, so why would I care? Now I’ll know someone. I may even scream. I feel awkward screaming during sports.
Back to graduations. I remember graduating high school. To me, it was a wonderful day. I HATED high school. Pretty much hated 96.5% of it, so I was stoked when I knew I didn’t have to see anyone from high school anymore. Or step foot in that high school again. Or be in my hometown much anymore. It was a new chapter in life. A time to become a person I wanted to be. College is just so much more fun. You get to do random stuff. And bad stuff. And stupid stuff. All stuff that you can mostly get away with because you’re in college. It’s awesome.
And you know what else I found out in Nebraska. There are cars out there that have air conditioning FOR YOU BUTT. In the seat!! It’s true. My boyfriend’s sister had them in her car. I thought my new car was real great because it had heated seats, but AIR CONDITIONED SEATS?!?! Mind.Blown.
I want to see the movie ‘Now You See Me’. I love magic.

Girl, you want to feel humidity? Come on down to Louisiana! I went for a run this morning at 5, and by 5:15, I was drenched because it was so humid. And yes, we cherish our A/C seats down here! I had them in my Avalon and loved it. Glad to hear your now enjoying sports. Catching the fever is fun, and you’ll be screaming along with everyone else soon! Have a great day!
Umm…I’m also going to buy a donut pan to make this recipe. It looks amazing!
Yep, in LA now, outside working with horses…..yuck it’s hot and humid out here!
Colorado is my dream state! One of these years….
I live in the Virginia Beach area and I just mowed my lawn at 0830 this morning and filled a t-shirt with sweat. Summer is here!
I agree with early morning workouts and being drenched. I’m in Houston, thank heavens for AC.
We were in Omaha for the weekend too, except watching State Track. It was a hot one! These donuts look awesome.
i saw all the cars lined up there, craziness
Umm these look amazing!! I love healthy all of your desserts are, can’t wait to try these.
OMGosh!! This looks amazing! Julie, do you know where I can find almond flour in bulk? These tiny packages aren’t cuttin’ it! Thanks!
Lindsey – check out Honeyville Farms online. I get the 25lb bag and freeze the bulk of it until I need it. I think this is the link:
http://store.honeyvillegrain.com/blanchedalmondflour5lb.aspx#.UZuEr5V6VUQ
honeyville has 5lb bags
We get ours at Trader Joe’s or on base. Next experiment is almonds in a food processor.
No kidding! I pay $11.99 a package and it might have 4 cups in it . . .maybe! That’s steep!
Lindsey,
If you have a Sprouts near you, they sell almond meal in bulk. The price for me I think is $4.99/lb, which isn’t bad. You can also make your own with a food processor.
That recipe is exactly what I came here looking for. I can now have a good day.
Everyone in my world thanks you for saving their lives today.
Recipe question: 1/4 tablespoon honey? Do you just eyeball this or is there a measuring method I’m missing?
Liz – if you put a little coconut oil on the tsp before you measure the honey, it will slide off super easy!
aw geez. that was suppose to be cup haha sorry about that
Go Big Red! I’m from Nebraska and went to school in Lincoln. Glad you got to visit the great state 🙂 Even more glad that you’re dating a Nebraska man!
On another note, I tried a different chicken carbonara recipe the other night, and it was not nearly as good as yours 🙂
That’s so cool you were in Omaha, that’s where I live! 🙂 It was a pretty humid day but it wasn’t nearly as bad as Wed was. I was dying! I thought Sunday was beautiful, the bf and I sat outside and watched the t-storms while drinking some New Grist beers. I can’t wait to try your recipe, I love donuts! BTW, if you don’t want to use almond flour, how much should I up the amount of coconut flour? Thanks! 🙂
probably 1/4-1/2 cup or so
96.5% very specific
Wow…these sound so amazing!
