I need to tell you about something that’s pretty much the greatest thing to happen to me since paleo brownies. Speaking of brownies, I might be making some this week for you. Just for you, definitely not for me. Anywho, I went to the gym the other day, and when I came out, my car was on. But I had my keys in my hand. I was confused. Like, uber confused. It wasn’t until I was handed to new remote starter to my car that I actually understood what was happening. I got an early Christmas present!! Since it’s been so freezing cold here, my car got a little helpful boost added to it while I was gone. So now, when I work the early shifts at the gym, I can start my car from bed and my butt will be warm as soon as I sit down. Paleo brownies and a warm car at 6am? HELL YES. This year can’t get any better.

I seriously love the movie Avatar. I’m guessing I’ve talked about this at least 4 times on my blog before, but whenever I get to see it again, I get so excited. It’s 1 of 2 movies I own. Avatar and The Breakfast Club. Makes sense. Both movies I cry in. For different reasons. But the Pandora’s world strikes more closely to my heart. Mostly because I want to live there and this world seems excessively boring when you watch that movie.

Speaking of another world, I’ve been remembering my dreams a lot lately. I wake up in the middle of the night, then once I fall back asleep, I have crazy dreams. Remember my dream about creepy people? Well, that one is still the worst. By far. But the other day, I had a dream about alligators. Or maybe it was a crocodile. I don’t really know the difference. I think alligators are smaller. So it was an alligator. Anywho, I was being chased by an alligator and what did I do? I jumped in a pool. THE ONE THING YOU’RE NOT SUPPOSE TO DO, I did. How childish of me. My dreams are childish. Anyways, when I woke up, the covers were all over the place, and my heart was racing. I’m guessing I was sweating too, mostly because I’m just a sweaty person. Does it count as exercise if your heart rate is elevated and you’re pitting out? I’m countin’ it.

I think I have poor circulation in my feet. They are ALWAYS cold. Socks on, socks off, shoes on, shoes off, fur boots on, fur boots off. I need heated socks for this winter.

This sounds yummy! I’m wondering if I can use ground beef instead? Would I cook it the same amount of time?

    1. juli says:

Yes! But I probably wouldn’t have to cook as long, I’m not sure how long though

  5. Stacy says:

Sounds like a lot of heat in this recipe. I love spicy but kids won’t touch it. How spicy is this recipe?

    1. juli says:

It’s definitely on the spicier side. I would cut the spice in half

  6. Julia says:

Would this work with chicken instead of pork?

    1. juli says:

Yes!! It wouldn’t have to cook quite as long now

  7. Melissa says:

It’s a good recipe up until the cumin.

I made this last night, but when I tasted it all I could taste was cumin. One tablespoon was waaay too much. ( maybe it’s just me! others seemed to like it! ) After a few bites, though, I got over it.

Also, I’d suggest putting what kind of hot sauce you recommend in the recipe. I had to scroll through the comments to find out.

Over all, not too bad. Definitely great for this cold winter<3

Quick question about your macro’s, does that include the avocado in the calorie count? Or do I have to add that separate in MyFitnessPal. Up until now I had done it with my recipe in the app, however I accidentally deleted it. When I saw someone else had done it I was very excited I wouldn’t have to recreate the wheel 🙂

      Thanks for that.

  8. Ben says:

I made this yesterday and thought about 9T of spices had to be a typo. 3T of smoked paprika was nearly half the bottle so I had a bad feeling. I went with it though and it was awesome. Even better today. Might have been a little salty last night but better today.

    1. Ben says:

Correction: The spices get to be a little overwhelming.

  9. Crystal says:

This was really good. A lot for one person, but I froze the rest for breakfast or dinner later.

    Thanks.

  10. Kim says:

I made this today and it is DELICIOUS! I did modify the ingredients a bit because I was afraid it would be too spicy. I used 1/4 cup Tabasco, 2 Tbl Paprica (ran out), 1 Tbl Chili Powder (again – ran out), 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes, 1/4 tsp Cayenne, and 1 Tbl Salt.
