We are officially 9 days away from New Year’s Eve! Which means Christmas is even closer. That’s seriously insane to me. And since we decided to exchange our normal NYE attire for swimsuits on the beach in Cabo, Mexico this year, it feels even less like the holidays. But I think this is could become a new tradition. Or at least I hope so! We’ve been spoiled in Colorado this winter with 60 degrees days but winter finally came to play yesterday and I was quickly reminded how much I hate the cold. Especially if I’m trying to venture out to celebrate at midnight. I barely can make it to midnight, let alone if I’m freezing and miserable.
My sister-in-law and I keep going back and fourth about our NYE look. We will be with our family in Mexico so do we go big and dress up like we normally would at home or do we just wear our swimsuits that we had on all day? OR do we lazy it up and wear pajamas? We are getting footed pajamas for Christmas so we might as well get our money worth! Tough debate, especially because feeling good in your skin while ringing in the New Year is always pretty great.
But since I have this fun ModCloth look hanging in my closet, I think it may be a dressed-up NYE. I have absolutely loved the color emerald this year so I was immediately drawn to this emerald lace top and as soon as I put it on, I knew I would wear it time and time again. You definitely need a black bralette to go underneath, but it’s a perfect top for a night out because it will keep you warm but it’s also obviously super breathable so when it’s time to dance your ass off, you’ll be able to cool down pretty quickly!
But what totally elevates this top and makes it pop is this gold sequin blazer that screams ringin’ in the New Year. And this fringe mini skirt that has a major Great Gatsby feel to it will definitely keep you dancing until past midnight. It’s so incredibly fun! As I took these photos in 12 degree weather at 7:30am, I almost forgot how cold it was while shimmied away. No matter how cold it was while I snapped some photos, I completely forgot because I felt confident and glowing in this NYE look!

I love the sequin blazer. I love all things glittery and sparkly. I think that is a great outfit for New Years eve. But, pajamas are always great to for a night at home with the family.
