I’ve said it already multiple times this week and I’ll say it again – I’m completely, 100%, totally over winter. I don’t need it in my life any longer. So I’m booking regular spray tans, finding out where I need to travel to ASAP, and I’m finding new pieces to add to my wardrobe that I’ll still be able to wear once spring rolls around. No more sweaters and no more heavy coats for this girl! I’m interested in pieces that I can layer right now then wear again when warmer temperatures finally begin to appear. And that’s exactly where this look was inspired from – winter meets spring.
If you’re on the same life plan as me, ignoring winter and acting like it’s warm out, you have to find pieces that you can layer the next few months then peel off once it gets warm out. And that means finding some staples that you’ll want to wear all season long. For me, that always starts with the shoes. I build most of my looks around the shoes I want to wear that day. And when I found these Vince Camuto booties, I knew I would be building most of my looks for the next few months solely around these shoes. I love them for both winter and spring because they cover enough of the foot that you can wear some no-show socks to help keep your feet warm. But then they are also breathable for the warmer months with no socks at all! Which means they are great right now with a pair of jeans and they will also be adorable with a skirt come spring!

Next up on the list – jackets! Since I’ve lived Colorado my entire life, I’ve acquired MANY heavy down coats over the years. But I don’t have many lightweight jackets that I can wear in winter AND in spring. And that’s wear this Madewell Plaid Coat comes in handy! It’s made with mostly wool so it’s great for layering with a heavy sweater underneath in the wintertime, but it will be even better come spring with a comfortable dress or a tank top with a skirt! I already have 3 other spring outfits planned in my head with this coat because it’s so lightweight and airy, and it fitted just enough!

And one more piece of clothing that you can purchase now and still wear throughout spring is a few lightweight sweaters! My closet has been overloaded with bulky, extra warm sweaters and I’m over it! So now I’m looking for fitted lightweight sweaters that can be paired with skirts and jean shorts.
