Colorado is pretty much the best. We get all the seasons here which means fall days can get a little bonkers at times. Just this past Monday we had snow along with a 15 degree morning. Not into that kind of fall weather. But luckily fall turned back around and we’ve had multiple days with 50-60 degree temperatures. And since those days can get a little warm at times, I’m not quite ready to turn my wardrobe over to winter apparel. So instead I’m mix and matching some summer items with fall pieces!

When temperatures range like they do here in Colorado, you can still sport some of your summer dresses and simply pair them with a few fall staples like a suede hat, a pair of tall boots, and of course, a warm cozy jacket. Whether you love wool coats, moto jackets or a lightweight trench coat, Nordstrom has the perfect jacket for you at all price points! My personal go-to is this midi wool coat because I can wear it with a dress that I sported in the summer or I can layer it even more with a pair of jeans, a sweater, and a big chunky scarf!

Another jacket I love to have on hand is a trench coat. There are trench coats in a ton of different lengths, but I find them the best kind of fall jacket because it is lightweight enough to not get you sweaty when the sun comes out, but it will keep you warm when the breeze picks up. I have a trench coat similar to this one and it’s one I’ve warned multiple years in a row because it’s so comfortable and goes with so many different looks!

And last but not least, moto jackets! I’m constantly wearing my faux leather jacket and suede moto jacket from Nordstrom every single week because it’s the easiest jacket to pair with any look. And they are easy to pack in a big purse!

Hopefully wherever you are, you are getting a true fall season and you can continue to wear a few of your summer dresses by simply pairing them with a new coat or jacket and a pair boots!

Oh, Hi! I’m Juli.

I’m a food hoarder. And a really bad dancer. If you don’t know me well, you will probably not understand my humor. Therefore, I apologize ahead of time. Thanks for listening to my ramblings of my ever-changing life and trusting my kitchen mishaps. Your trust in me is appreciated.

  1. Hi Juli, I’m catching up on your podcast and answering a question from episode 102- I would love the 30 meals in under 30 min eBook! Would totally purchase! Also, love the podcasts recs. #SSDGM

  2. That green looks great on you! 🙂 I’m in love with the Moto jackets – I’ve been looking for a while and these are some great options! Thanks!

  3. I love everything about this look! And I’m so jealous of your seasons 🙂 I’m in Charleston and I absolutely LOVE it but we are just now getting some fall weather…and sadly, we don’t get much color change. The leaves just randomly decide to fall off the trees sometime in late November. BUT I’m doing a medical rotation out in Salt Lake City in a little over a week and I’ll be there for 3 months…I’m driving through CO on the way out and I’m crossing my fingers that there will still be a little fall foliage.

PS – I am planning to do a “Fall Fashion inspo by my favorite bloggers” post next week. Would you mind if I included you and used one of your pictures from this post? I would of course link back to you 🙂 If not, no worries! I just wanted to ask! I am a long time reader of yours but I’m very new to blogging myself so I’m pretty sure only my mom and boyfriend read my posts right now anyways 😉
