I’m sorry I’ve been so “omgimengagedomgomg.” I just can’t help it. And I’m not actually sorry. I fell in love with this guy two and a half years ago, we went through our ups and downs, we moved in together, we got a dog, and now we’re onto the next journey together and it’s all so damn fun. It’s a pretty fantastic feeling to love someone so much and for them to love you back just as much. He’s so great. I wish I could say I’ll stop talking about the engagement, but that would be a flat out lie. I’m definitely going to talk about wedding planning because that’s so effing exciting! Especially since we are planning to do a destination wedding so that takes away from some of the stress.
So I only have two outfits for you this week because I’ve been living in workout clothes, sweat pants, and a really messy bun. All I’ve been doing is working on my next cookbook. This weekend I’m turning in the 120 recipes I created for you then finishing up the front matter and all the little extra stuff that goes in it, to turn in in the next few weeks. This point in the book creation process is always exciting because it means I get to concentrate on other things. Like getting you guys more free recipes on my site. That’s something I really miss doing when I’m writing a cookbook. I started this blog years ago to share free recipes and that will never change, so that’s exactly what I intend to pick back up after this is turned in! I just miss the freedom of cooking for my blog when I feel like it and writing freely about whatever is on my mind. Like our engagement. Ugh, Juli stop. My b.
So let’s get to the point so I can finish up my book and get to cooking for you all!! I’m really into this ugly sweater that doesn’t seem ugly to me. I found it on the sales rack of H&M for $10. That store always overwhelms me but I found this little diamond because it screams look at me. It’s comfortable, it’s not too heavy, and did I say it’s comfortable? I want to wear it all the time. Along with these flats from Steve Madden. Flats are the new heel. Just FYI, I bought a 1/2 size bigger based on reviews and they fit perfect!

{ Flower Multi-Colored Sweater on sale at H&M for $10 | STS Blue Destroyed Slim Boyfriend Jeans, in white for $54 in the Juniors of Nordstrom (sold out) – here is a similar pair | Steve Madden Ecentrcq Flats in Blush for $60 | MZWallace Julie Cocoa Bedford bag | Nasty Gal Such a Baller Earrings for $18}
This outfit will always be special to me, not just because I FREAKING LOVE this top, but because it was the outfit I was wearing when my now fiancé proposed. I really, truly love crop tops. But winter got me down like WHOA because I can’t wear high waisted skirts and itty bitty crop tops. Well, I guess I can, it’s like almost 70 degrees here in Colorado. Do people still believe in global warming or are people just over that? It’s just never talked about anymore about it’s pretty much spring here. I’m not complaining. No sir. Keep the snow in the mountains, I have fashion friday pictures to take.

{ Green Back Button Up Crop Top from Inspyre Boutique for $40 – similar top one and two | Black Distressed Flying Monkey Jeans from Inspyre Boutique for $60 | Taupe Leather Jacket bought last year from Hope’s for $70 – similar for $60 | Levity black booties (a couple years old) – similar one and two }

I have a great idea! I think Food Network should have a show that you star in. Like Pioneer Woman….only you…..Food Network needs a paleo show, it’s the future. You are gorgeous, stylish, great personality, and you cook amazing food! I guarantee people would love it!
Yes!!! Make this happen, please!?
Hellllllz yeah to a destination wedding! When my fiancé proposed last year we visited two venues here in CO and while both were nice (butt ugly in the winter haha) we said screw this, let’s ditch the stress and get married in Lake Como, Italy! And done. Most stressful part was renting apartments for our families and that’s it. Gorgeous setting, low low stress and just plain FUN like a wedding should be! We are stoked and couldn’t be happier with our choice to do what excites US! Best of luck and do NOT stop talking about it!!!! Absorb and enjoy every second of this exciting time!!!
That engagement outfit is to die for! And that ring… just the perfect accessory to any outfit 🙂
THANK you SO much for showing us flats! I’ve had foot surgery and I absolutely can’t wear heels. I love your outfits with the cute heeled shoes and boots, but I get all 🙁 because I can’t wear them. Love the flats, and I’m going to be checking out the Steve Madden site!
I just bought the shirt from Inspyre Boutique because I had to have it since it looks so awesome on you! Congrats on your engagement
Congratulations on the engagement, your ring is GORGEOUS and the story behind it is absolutely adorable. 🙂 My hubby and I had a destination wedding in Puerto Vallarta three years ago and it was hands-down the best decision I ever made. The whole process was SO stress-free and was a fraction of the cost of a traditional wedding here. Good luck in your planning process!!
Destination is the way to go! My husband and I got married on a cruise ship in Alaska last summer- we didn’t have to stress about planning anything, and everybody in attendance had a vacation, as well!
I just got married at NOW Sapphire Riviera Cancun and everything was perfect. Definitely worth checking out, if you’re looking in that area. If be happy to share costs and things with you, it you’d like.
And CONGRATS!!!!
Congratulations on the engagement! I think you should also look into Couples Resorts, they have four locations in Jamaica (two in Negril and two in Ocho Rios). The resorts are adult only, all inclusive, and reasonably priced.
We got married at El Dorado Royale(I think you’ve been there) and everything was PERFECT! 50 of our closest family and friends came. We are even going back there for our 5 yr anniversary AND we’ve had so many people tell us how much fun they had that a lot of our guests from the wedding are even going to join us for our anniversary trip! Destination weddings are the way to go!! If that’s something you’re looking into, I recommend going to destinationweddings.com and getting a wedding planner through them. It’s not expensive at all (I think it was $50, and then that money was credited back once we booked through her) and she was so helpful! Good luck on the planning and CONGRATS!
