It’s totally becoming fall over here in Colorado and I’m absolutely loving it! The mornings are cooler, the evenings are cooler, but then the day time is still warm with just a little crisp in the air. I luuuuuurv it. Hoping this weather heads your way Texas and Cali because I hear it’s about a milli degrees there and not getting to wear boots is an upsetting shame.

This week was a fun week of outfits. While I was on book tour, I stopped in Zara in multiple states since we don’t have it here in CO. I seriously LOVE that store. While I was in one of their stores, I came across this sleeveless trench coat that I instantly fell in love with. I’ve been looking for something like this and so glad I found it in such a fun fall color. So I ended up wearing it out to dinner at Work & Class. Man, I LOVE that restaurant. They have a spicy cocktail that I’m seriously obsessed with. Back to the point. If you’re not a fan of this mustard yellow/kind of orangey-ish color, I found one in black and in green! It’s the perfect accessory to dress up a simple outfit with jeans and a t-shirt!

This dress is by far my favorite fall dress of the season. I bought it in this marsala color as well as teal, but they also have it in red, black, indigo, and wine! And it’s only $48 so getting multiple isn’t a problem! Wearing it with booties like this or tall boots is the perfect transitional piece into fall! Wear a scarf with it during the cooler morning, then take the scarf off during the day when it heats up!

This is an outfit I wore out on a casual date night. I usually work at my gym on Wednesday nights but had the evening off this week. After having a stressful beginning of the week, I was in dire need of a dirty martini. Well, the Royals were also playing so getting the fiancé to a fancier restaurant wasn’t going to happen, so we just went to a local pub. Terrible food, but good martinis. Really glad I wore flats that night because before I knew it, I was feelin’ realll good. Until the next morning, when I woke up incredibly dehydrated and with a wicked hangover. I think I’m over dirty martinis. I’ll stick to my Almond Butter Blondies next time I’m stressing out.

Squeeeeeeee!!! I absolutely positively adore this poncho. I can’t get enough of it. It’s comfortable, it’s warm, and the colors are absolutely beautiful. It’s the socially acceptable way to wear a blanket around during your day-to-day activities while still looking fashionable. So awesome. I bought these boots over 3 years ago, but so many over the knee boots are coming in each week so I’ve linked 4 of my favorites that have the similar look to these. I think I’m going to buy some thigh high boots this year. Time to take that chance in hopes of not looking like a whore while doing it. Chances people, it’s all about taking chances.

I’ve never commented before, and I know you don’t like to say much about your fiancé, but I got very excited to see that he’s a Royals fan! They’ve been kicking ass this week. Is he a KC native?

    1. juli says:

hahaha hes made me a royals fan too. while on book tour, he came to boston and we went to the red sox vs royals game! he was born in KC and raised in Omaha so he’s always a fan of his roots!

Juli I loooove Fashion Fridays and frequently copy you and then get all kinds of compliments on outfits I pretend we’re my idea. ???? But I need some help on cape styling! I bought one on a whim a year ago and have yet to wear it because I have no idea how to make it look intentionally stylish. Please give me something else to copy!

How is the sizing for the poncho?
    I see S/M/L
    But, how do they “fit”?

    1. juli says:

i got a medium, but i’m sure a small would still fit well too.

I LOVE Work & Class!!! It’s like a 5 minute walk from our apartment downtown – I could literally eat there every day. The roasted lamb – swoon.

    1. juli says:

I love all your scarf outfits but I can’t figure out how to wear them with big boobs? Makes me look wide as a house!

I’m a guy, love your recipes AND I dig your Fashion Fridays. My daughter is built like you so I always forward them to her as she has your sense of fashion and loves your recipes too. Paleo is a permanent part of the way me and the missus eat and credit it with my losing 20 lbs of fat, shrinking two pant sizes and getting my health back. Keep up the good work.

yay!! love when the guys chime in! and glad I can maybe help your daughter find some stuff!
