If you are one of the many many people out there who is looking to to become healthier in the new year, well I’m here to help in as many ways as possible. I have recipes, workouts, programs, cookbooks, blog posts, and more to help you find your own road to your healthiest life yet. But I know that one of the main reasons people give up on their goals is because it all feels so overwhelming. First you gotta clean up your diet, then work out, then get 10,000 steps in a day, then weight train, then understand the ingredients in your food, then count your calories or carbs or fat or protein! AHHHHHHH. So let me stop you and let’s start with a game plan to help keep you on track. Let’s make a small step today that will lead to big results later. Today let’s start with some of food you purchase on a regular basis and mix up the brands you may have used in the past to help you get some better nutrition into your daily diet!
Years ago when I first started changing my diet, finding condiments or cereals or even specific flours was WORK! You’d have to go to specialty grocery stores or order items online that were super expensive and took forever to get in the mail. But these days it’s SO MUCH EASIER to find clean ingredients, especially now that Walmart has so many amazing brands online and in stores. Walmart has been working their butts off to get great brands into their stores to help you conquer your resolutions this year, no matter where you live! They also have something new on their site called their Wellness Hub, where you can explore products to help you eat better, ways to fuel your exercise, brands to help you practice self care, and supplements to boost your mental wellness.
When I first started changing my diet, I took things nice and slow. I would change one thing about what I ate until that felt comfortable and normal, then I would try changing something else. It was a step-by-step process for me, but it helped me develop some really healthy habits that stuck. And when it comes to diet, everything feels overwhelming – should I eat keto, or paleo, should I go vegan, or change up the meat I consume? But instead of looking at the BIG picture, which can seem daunting, start small instead. Start by changing up some of the brands you use in your own home. And let’s start with condiments. These days you can find SO MANY different condiments to match your beloved ketchup or mayo or even pasta sauce. For years and years, condiment brands have loaded their products with multiple sugars, strange oils, and dyes. But when you’re purchasing brands like Primal Kitchen, Sir Kensington’s, and Rao’s; you have MUCH cleaner ingredients in your condiments. Primal Kitchen condiments use avocado oil instead of canola oil, their unsweetened ketchup tastes absolutely delicious, and their sweetened sauces use pineapple juice and dates instead of high fructose corn syrup. These condiments make it easy for you to swap out your old brands and add some extra nutrients into your daily diet.
Walmart also has brands like Vital Proteins, Bob’s Red Mill, Purely Elizabeth Granola, RX Bars & Nut Butters, Jovial Gluten Free Pastas, Simple Mills, and more! And when you’re looking through Walmart’s Wellness Hub, you’ll be able to shop by diet preferences, healthy snacks, gluten free foods, vegan foods, and everything in between. Walmart has listened to their customers and is constantly making it easier and more accessible to get brands you love and brands that will make a difference in your life. Plus Walmart has different options such as online pickup and delivery, free next-day and two-day shipping options, plus they now have their Walmart+ membership which will get you free delivery from your local store on orders $35+ (restrictions apply).

Don’t get analysis paralysis when it comes to your goals this year! And don’t let the big picture slow you down. Start small, change a few things in your fridge and your pantry, and things will begin to snowball from there. It’s not about perfection, it’s about doing what you can now to make a huge impact later on. No matter where you live, you should be able to get your hands on healthier, better-for-you brands, and Walmart is here to help!
