Stitch Fix is a personal styling service that carries women’s sizes 0-24W and XS-3X, maternity and petite, and men’s sizes XS-XXL. What I love about Stitch Fix is there is no subscription required, you can get a Fix anytime you want! Either on-demand or on a regular cadence. Maybe you want a box when the season changes or you want one every few weeks to give you new work attire options – you can set it to your preference. And say something doesn’t fit your look just right, returns are super easy and free! Keep what you love, send back the rest with your pre-paid shipping bag at any USPS. It’s that easy.
With Stitch Fix, you pay $20 to have your Fix curated by a personal stylist, which applies towards anything you keep. If you keep all five pieces from your Fix, you get a 25% discount on your entire purchase. And since you are working with a real-live human stylist, your personal stylist will get to know you more and more as time goes on, which means you’ll be able to share feedback with them. You’ll be able to share your likes and dislikes along with what you would like to see moving forward. I even have a style inspiration pinterest board that I shared with my stylist to help create my Fix!
Just a couple days ago on the blog, I shared a guest post by my friend Brianna talking all about budgeting. We are a week in 2018 and it’s the perfect time to not only figure out your own budget, but stick with it throughout the year. And Stitch Fix wants to make sure you feel good in whatever you’re wearing while also feeling comfortable with the prices of the items you’re getting in your Fix. In your profile, you can set your price preferences by item category (denim, tops, dresses) so your stylist knows to send you items that fit within your budget. You can also ask her stick within a budget for the cost of your entire Fix!
Once you receive your Fix, you have three days to try on your pieces. Keep only what you love, send back the rest in the pre-paid shipping bag and you’ll only be charged for the items you keep once you checkout from your Fix. Say something doesn’t fit quite right but you’re still set on adding it to your closet, not to worry – size exchanges are easy peasy!
And just because you’re on a budget doesn’t mean you won’t have high-quality items shipped to your doorstep. Stitch Fix carries well known and new up-and-coming brands. And some pieces that are made to last start at only $20! They carry pieces made from natural fibers and thoughtfully choose from high-quality fabrics that will fit you just right. Plus shipping is always free. So not only can you stay on budget with your own Fix, but you’ll never pay for shipping or for returns!
When I received my recent Stitch Fix box, I was greeted by Just Black distressed jeans for $88 (love that brand), a Pixley Hatty Cold Shoulder Sweater Dress for $68, a Dear John Casco Bomber Jacket for $78, a Bella Dahl Tanya Tie Back Top for $114 and a pair of Tahari Nina Suede Booties for $129. My body has changed just a little bit and I need to update my preferences, so the jeans were just a tad big. And I have similar booties so I’m going to let my stylist know to stay away from taupe booties in general since my addiction is real and I need to spice up my shoe color collection.
But I loved the dress, clutch and lightweight jacket so much that I packed them with me on my recent trip to Cabo. For our last night in Cabo, we ended up going to a fancy dinner at Toro (where we spotted Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo and couldn’t stop staring…like real creeps) where I wore this cutout black dress and paired it with the faux fur clutch. Even though we were in Cabo, this lightweight sweater dress was perfect for evening and still breathable throughout the night!
For our next day back home to Colorado, I threw on this Dear John bomber jacket that I’m absolutely obsessed with! It was the perfect lightweight jacket to wear in the extra air conditioned airports and fall asleep in on the airplane. I know I’ll wear this jacket time and time again because it goes perfectly with my style and busy lifestyle since it easily fits inside a purse!
With every Fix you receive, you’ll get little tear-away cards that help you put together an outfit. So if you absolutely hate figuring out what to wear, they do it for you! No thinking involved! And once you decide which items you’re keeping and if you’re returning any, you’ll check out online and you’ll fill out a quick sheet of what you thought about each item. This is the perfect time to help your stylist really get to know you. For me, I’m going to let her know to stay away from taupe booties since I have too many and tell her that the jeans ran a little big so I updated my size preferences, but I’ll also mention that I really love that brand and would like to see it in my future Fix! The more feedback you can give to your stylist, the better each box is going to be! And remember, it’s also the perfect place to let your stylist know that you’re on a budget and to keep items under a certain price. Talk to your stylist!! They are there to listen!
