I’m obviously not ready to give up the fact that our trip to Costa Rica is over and done with. I’ve talked about it in every post and just recorded a podcast about it yesterday. But it was seriously the best trip and I wouldn’t have changed a single thing…except for reapplying sunscreen more often. The ocean can be very distracting. And I seem to still need a mother nearby to reapply. Such a child.

When we decided to go to Costa Rica, we didn’t want to have any sort of itinerary. We wanted to go in with no plan and let the adventure play out on it’s own. And an adventure is exactly what we got! We got lost our first night and had absolutely no idea where we were going at any point. We simply started walking, knowing that the beach was in the direction we were going. But not having a plan and just letting Costa Rica lead the way was the best way to do it. Every day we ended up at the beach, even if it took us a while to get there.

But when we got sick of walking everywhere and needed a hotel with a pool that overlooked the ocean, we walked once more into a hotel closer to the beach. Luckily, whenever we were walking anywhere, I always had these knotted sandals that I seriously wore with every single outfit there – With my swimsuits down to the beach, in a jumpsuit out to dinner, with a flowy white dress to coffee, with this fun flirty yellow dress, and even in my sweats to the airport. I’m obsessed with them! They are so incredibly comfortable! And they also come in a blush color!

Sandals For Any Occasion (or vacation!!)

Since I was packing pretty light for a trip filled with mostly bikinis, I packed all my favorite accessories that screamed vacation. And since chokers are still in (yaaaaaas) and I’m soaking up every moment of that, I packed this thread-wrapped faux leather choker with bright pops of color! And I also made sure that this straw hat travel safe and sound with me to Costa Rica because I wore it with literally every outfit! No matter if I was at the beach or in the pool or out wandering around, I made sure my face was always protected from the sun!

Love that hat! How did you pack it so it didn’t get crushed in your bag?

Random question, but what nail color do you have on right now. I just watched you’re IG story with the new meatloaf recipe and I LOVE that pink. Thanks 😉

i honestly have no clue, i just always pick a random color when i’m at the salon. i think it might be a hello kitty shellac color by OPI!

Couldn’t figure out how to send you a Facebook message from the Paleomg page so I’m posting this here. If you haven’t already you should follow the page “Betches” on social media AND look at their website/blog. They do hilarious (honest) bachelor/ette recaps like you do on your podcasts when the shows are airing AND they are posting about this recently: http://www.betches.com/chris-soules-bachelor-arrested -which, if you want to include more bachelor topics on your podcasts, Chris Soules has given you lots of material ???? Hahaha. Also, you’re fucking hilarious on your podcasts, keep doing whatcha doing ????????

OMG, first time I went to Costa Rica we totally ended up walking in the dark in the jungle because we didnt realize how fast it gets dark there 🙂 I didnt cry (only because I am older sister and supposed to keep my Ish together). Love the yellow dress!

    1. juli says:

it seriously gets dark sooooo quickly there!

Inspired by your fashion post, I actually bought the yellow dress to wear at my beach wedding reception this weekend! Only problem is it’s see through on me! Did you wear a slip or anything? Super cute on you, and I’m determined to make it work for me! Thanks for the inspiration.

    1. juli says:

that’s so damn weird because mine isn’t see through in the slightest! is yours double lined?

Love your stuff!! I have tried many of your recipes, all fabulous. One in particular I make it to a tee (chinichurri flank stank) but my problem with it is that there is never enough of it to make it to the dinner table!!! Ugh, I just nibble away at it while finishing food prep. I’ve gotten into habit now of making 2 so I can have leftovers which go great on salads. 🙂

Also your stories (instagram) and podcast are great. Continue doing you!!

Question for someone starting a blog, I’m an avid world traveler and hobbyist photographer that I want to share my experiences and stories on, which platform/sites would you recommend for a beginner blogger?

    Appreciate the time!!
