Let me preface something – I’m not much of an outdoorsman. You know what I am? A perpetually coldsman. I’m always cold. As I type this blog post and it’s 35 degrees outside, I’m cold…even though I’m inside, on the couch, under a blanket. I need all the layers at all times. And I know I’m not the only one. Even if you feel the opposite and you love to spend every second of each year outdoors, I know you probably bundle up in all kinds of layers. Since I’ve lived in Colorado my whole life, I’m surrounded by friends and family who love hiking, biking, skiing, snowboarding, and any other kind of sport they can think of. They are all outdoorsmen. Hell, we have an ice climbing competition in Colorado every year. If people can figure out how to turn any kind of outdoor activity into a sport, they will. And they will crush that sport year after year after year. Hence climbing ice as a hobby.
