You know what they say – those who work out together, stay together. Wellllll crap, we don’t actually work out together. So what does that mean? It hopefully just means we will be together even longer since we give each other space for a solid hour each day. But I do believe that relationships are stronger when the people have similar values and interests. My husband and are may have pretty different interests on a daily basis, but our values stay the same. We want to do good in the world, we want to be kind to others, and we want to live our best lives daily. And that best life includes taking care of ourselves, both in and out of the gym. We both love to eat as best we can while still enjoying life, and we both love to work out on a regular basis to help us thrive day in and day out. Working out gives us drive and purpose, but it also helps create a healthier and happier relationship long term. “Happy people don’t just shoot their husbands.”
My husband and I actually met at the gym years ago when we were both still doing CrossFit on a daily basis. He would come in, looking all grumpy since he worked all day every day, and he would barely make eye contact. How we ever ended up together is a complete mystery to me. But we made it work, even when I was coaching him day in and day out. He never got annoyed with me telling him what to do, he just listened and worked his butt off to get better at whatever he was doing. Maybe those were some of the things that I loved about my husband the most when I first met him – he was a great listener and he was a hard worker. Two qualities that you don’t see in just anyone in the world.
If you’re looking to do all the shopping for the family in one place, Nordstrom has you covered. I buy about 90% of my husband’s clothes at Nordstrom because everything fits so well. And if it doesn’t, Nordstrom will do whatever they need to ensure you and your family are completely happy with the items you find. From activewear to sneakers, Nordstrom has it all, in all different kinds of sizes. I was able to find my husband the most comfortable pair of stretch woven shorts for almost half of what he normally pays for shorts. And then I finally got him on board with adidas in these Swift Run Sneakers that he now wears everywhere. He even wore them for 30 hours straight while we flew to Bali. I think he now understands my obsession.
