I truly cannot believe it’s almost mid-November. Just yesterday it was lightly snowing in Denver and kindly reminding us that winter is just a stone throw away. And with winter comes travel. In just a week I’m leaving for New Zealand which means I have 3 flights and some long layovers. Getting there may be awful, but I know it will be totally worth it!
And with all this upcoming holiday travel, it’s all about planning accordingly. Sure, you could always wear pajamas or workout clothes while at the airport, but if you’re traveling for the holidays, you may have a party to attend as soon as you land. Or in-laws to meet. Or new friends to get to know. And if that’s the case, looking put together while still being comfortable is key. Airports and airplanes usually mean cold temperatures so whenever I travel throughout the winter, I always come dressed in the coziest sweater I can find. And that’s where Banana Republic comes in handy.
Right now Banana Republic has TONS of soft and cozy sweaters to choose from. Like this light pink turtleneck sweater. This is the SOFTEST sweater I have ever put on. It’s one of those sweaters that can be dressed up or dressed down. For this post, I styled it with a skirt and over-the-knee boots because this type of look would be great when you have a special event or friends to meet up with when you land and you want to feel put together. But it’s also a sweater that can be dressed down with a pair of jeans and sneakers. I wore it just this past week that exact way while traveling from Phoenix back to Denver. No makeup required!

Next up on my must-have list for travel looks during winter is a heavy coat. If you’re going back home to visit family and that hometown includes cold weather, a heavy coat is an obvious must. But so many warm coats out there don’t really double as a coat that you could wear to a special event with maybe a dress or jumpsuit. But this Wool Blend Military Coat is all about double duty. You could wear this while traveling with a simple pair of jeans and a sweater like the one I shared above. And then once you land, throw on your holiday dress and this coat will go seamlessly with your look.
What I love about this coat is that it really holds its shape. When I traveled recently, I packed this coat in my suitcase instead of wearing it and when I took it out, it looked exactly the same! No dents or folds! And it also comes in a dark olive green color which would go beautifully with a burgundy pleated dress or a sleek black turtleneck dress for a modern and sleek holiday look!

Last but not least, I have a look for women who have business to get done as soon as they land! And that look starts with a stretchy midi skirt. This knit midi pencil skirt is EVERYTHING for a woman who has a schedule to keep while traveling. It’s stretchy, comfortable and the perfect length. And it’s easily worn with a comfortable pair of heels like these Velvet Bow Pumps. I’m really not a fan of heels, especially when I’m traveling, but I understand they are sometimes needed in certain situations. These Velvet Bow Pumps are truly INSANELY comfortable. And I don’t say that very often about heels. The height of the heels gives you a little extra length but they don’t feel too high for walking in daily. I love them!
And don’t forget – every travel day should include some sort of scarf! I paired this look with a lightweight metallic scarf that can easily be thrown in a purse for whenever needed or dressed down with a pair of jeans and a light jacket. Scarves are total must-haves while traveling because they can double as blankets in a time of need…like when I was stuck in the Miami airport overnight and the air conditioning was BLASTING. That scarf saved my life. Along with Netflix.

I’m looking for a photographer in Denver to help me take some photos to jazz up my website. I’m a consultant so the topic is kind of boring but I’m hoping someone creative can help me take some portraits and think of some other stock photos to make it more interesting…do you have someone you like to work with and would recommend? I’d so appreciate anyone you can share.
