After a week of sailing the island of Guadeloupe, I am back in Denver cooking up a storm and getting posts ready to go before I leave for another trip next week! Things are starting to get busy over here with the summer coming in hot. I freaking LOVE the summer. As I sit on my couch at the moment writing this post with the sun is rising and the birds are chirping, I am one happy son of a B. Summer just gets me. And I normally wake up around 5:30am so the whole sun-not-rising-until-9am winter business just doesn’t float my boat.

Speaking of boat floating, let’s chat about what I wore while I was on my recent TradeWinds trip! We took an American Airlines red eye flight from Denver to Miami then a 10am flight from Miami to Guadeloupe. Since I got a spray tan at Glamour Bar, I didn’t want any of it to rub off while wearing leggings on the plane, so I wore a super comfortable dress instead! And this dress was perfect since it’s long sleeve and super soft. Plus, I wore a scarf since it was freezing in Denver and it could double as a blanket on the plane, which it did!

While we were in Guadeloupe, we came across this beautiful and picturesque beach where we had some champagne at sunset. Not a bad life. Love this swimsuit so much because not only is it more on the affordable side, but it’s incredibly comfortable and the bottoms shape the bum perfectly! Plus I found it in white and also black!

I bought a handful of cover-ups before I went on vacation and I was so surprised to see how expensive most cover-ups are! But this cover-up is under $100 and it was the cover-up that I wore almost every day because it’s super easy to throw on and it is really breathable! Can’t get enough of it!

I wore this bikini a couple times while in Guadeloupe because the cut is just super comfortable. I actually forgot to pack a bra for the flight home so I ended up wearing this bikini top instead! And if you are looking for a solid hat for summer, this one is AMAZING! I got it right before my trip and I’m so glad I did because it’s solid, but it still moves so if it get smooshed between something while traveling, it won’t dent!

How fun is this cover-up!? It’s so bright and colorful! I wore it one day on our trip while we did a couple excursion and I needed a little more sun protection. This is another hat I found that’s super affordable compared to other hats I’ve purchased. Loved this one and all the shade I was able to have throughout the trip. I may have burned my legs while sailing, but my face was pale as can be!

Whenever I think I have a favorite bikini, I find another that makes me feel super confident! And this one is great because the top stays in place and gives a little extra support. While the bottoms are seamless throughout the hips so you don’t have anything folding over the top of it!

While we were in Guadeloupe, we ate in an adorable little place called Terre-de-Haut at a restaurant called Couleurs du monde, and this was the first time I put on real clothes in a few days. I packed this dress with me because it seemed like the perfect vacation dress, plus it was easy to pack! It’s low in stock so I linked a few other ones you may like!

Last but not least, this bikini is AWESOME! It’s a little tough to see from this photo, but there is a cute cut out in the top and a little bow! I wish I would have worn it more and I think I may pack it with me for my upcoming trip to Palm Springs and Houston! It’s just such a cute suit for summer!

I had a couple people on instagram ask how to pack on a carry-on suitcase for a long trip like this. When you’re sailing with TradeWinds, they ask you to unpack once you get on the boat and they take your suitcase to help free up space in your cabin. Whenever I travel, I always use this carry-on suitcase and these packing squares to pack everything neatly and keep everything organized. Plus, with a hard side suitcase, you know your luggage will always fit overhead.

For the sailing trip that I went on, all you really need is swimsuits, cover-ups, tennis shoes, sandals, and just a couple outfits to wander around in. So it’s quite easy to get multiple looks into one small suitcase! And I swear, those packing squares give me life! They get so much more into your suitcase and you can find everything easily without all of your items from your suitcase having to be laid out on your bed. It’s the best!

Random question about spray tan….did it wash off/wear off while on your trip? I’d like to get one before a beach trip but worry it will fade/wear off unevenly when I get in the ocean.
And you look AMAZING! So glad you had a good time!

You always look so put together (even on vacay!) Questions – How do you pack your hats? I always end up wearing mine on the plane and I never bring more than one because I am afraid of packing it in the suitcase.
