Today is the day that I leave Santa Ynez Valley and I am SO bummed about it. Just last week, I had never even heard of this place and now I have found myself falling in love with the quiet and quaint atmosphere that surrounds every town in the valley. I worked out here, drank cocktails here, sampled wine here, and had some of the most delicious meals I’ve ever eaten here. And I can’t wait to tell you all about it next week. Until then, I need to hop on a plane soon in Santa Barbara, so let’s chat about the outfits I packed with me for this trip!

This fit and flare dress has a buttons up the back and a cute cut out to show a little skin. It also comes in 3 different colors! Since I was traveling alone this trip, I had to ask someone in the hallway of the hotel to button me up, then ask some rando on the street to take a photo of me, then getting out of it was a whole different ordeal. But it was totally worth it because this dress is comfy, simple and perfect for any night!

I wore this look on the first day while wandering around the town of Solvang. Solvang is this adorable little Danish town that has the coolest architecture and color throughout. And the trees are in full bloom so when I saw this pink tree AND a pink door, I obviously just had to pose in front of someone’s hotel room (as they probably look out their window in confusion). These shorts are my go-to whenever I want to be comfortable in shorts. And this twist front top is THE BEST top ever. I need to see if it comes in more colors because I need more in my life! Best t-shirt ever!

This look was for my first wine tasting and the rosé I’m drinking here tastes like watermelon jolly rancher. Pretty awesome. Love this embroidered off the shoulder top tie with these strappy sandals. Seriously OBSESSED with these shoes. And they are on major sale and so comfortable!

Every night I went out to dinner, I made sure I had a special look for. Even though I was traveling alone, it felt so good to wear an outfit that made me feel amazing and this skirt did just that! I went with their smallest size so I would wear it high around my waist, but you could totally wear it lower if that length seems to short for you! Wore this off the shoulder top to a delicious dinner that ended up being with a friend instead of totally solo!

When I found this dress, I knew right away that I wanted to pack it with me on my trip! I love when dresses or top are off the shoulder because when the sleeves are separate so you can still move your arms without moving the entire dress around! Plus this dress is still on major sale!!

Last but not least, the first look of all – the one I wore to the airport on my way to Santa Barbara! This look is so casual and comfortable and perfect for a flight and wandering around airports! And the top just went on sale and is available in 5 different colors!

Love the Bralette SO much- BUT I’m a D and it doesn’t look like it supports or lifts much?

I remember when your blog was filled with posts promoting small businesses like Inspyre Boutique. I always loved that you promoted the smaller fish in the sea, but now you only promote clothing linked to your reward style affiliate account. It’s inauthentic and annoying. I guess if the clothing doesn’t make you any cash there’s no sense in you talking about it anymore.

    1. juli says:

oh erin, you sound very silly. you understand that my business is a small business, correct? and i just did a post about my favorite restaurants in Denver which include 43 small businesses. and i have a post coming up about my favorite things to do, places to shop and where to go in Denver which all include small businesses. I’m also working with AMEX to promote 2 other small businesses in Denver and that post should be live by the end of this month. i’ve also posted about many small businesses like cold brew coffee that i purchase, grain-free tortilla chips, ghee, chocolate, almond milk, grain-free muffins – so it’s weird you’re not considering any of those small businesses that i support. if i were to post all outfits from a small boutique in city that only people from Denver could MAYBE get a hold of, that would not help any of my thousands of readers across the country and world to shop for themselves. it’s just like if i post a recipe with only the ingredients and not the directions – that’s not helpful at all. so before you think something is inauthentic and annoying, maybe you should better understand MY small business and be supportive of how i’ve been able to keep this FREE website up over the years.

Awesome response Juli! Living in Alaska I would be most annoyed if your outfits were only available from small boutiques/businesses as I would NEVER have the option of purchasing them! Keep on doing what you’re doing!!

    1. juli says:

      thanks, barb!!

  6. Rose says:

I think it’s so cool that you get to travel to promote tourism in less popular destinations. You sure made me want to visit Santa Ynez! I followed along on Instagram and you made it look like a cool destination. I also think you’re reply above was extremely gracious. You do what you do well so keeping on keeping on!

Nice little post. Haven’t been there in years, but makes me want to go!
Fess Parker was such a great humanitarian. He had some retirement communities that were extremely awesome and low cost or free down in Santa Barbara. My elderly aunt lived in one for many years and raved about it. I remember him as Daniel Boone, and growing up I loved him and that show.
