OMG I’m excited. No, not because I am making caramel bars today, but because we got something really cool this week. You ready? You excited?

MEN’S PALEOMG SHIRTS ARE HERE! Boom.

So happy to have some men actually repping my shirts! That’s crazy! These men shirts are great. They are American Apparel 50/50 and say PaleOMG in yellow. Straight up yellow people! That’s the color of happiness if you didn’t know! And happy PaleOMG clothed people = healthy people. It’s science. I’ve done the research. Which has included eating far too many dates while wearing a PaleOMG shirt and being judged by paleo purists. Being judged sucks.

Check out some of the ladies who have been rocking the women’s tanks and tshirts at their gyms! Badass women all around the world! So cool!

Ashley from Alaska reppin her tank in Alaska during wod 12.3!
Robin getting some of her first unassisted pull ups in her tank at CrossFit 816!
Michelle kicking butt in wod 12.2!
Ann still looking amazing in her T-shirt after wod 12.2 at her gym in Baltimore!
Tracy killing it in wod 12.2 at CF Roots in Boulder, CO! She competed in the Open last year while she was pregnant!!
My cousin Michelle looking daaamn good in her fancy pants in Colorado Springs! I like to think I’m the one who made her try CrossFit 😉

Holy balls. If that ain’t inspiring right there, I don’t know what is. All amazing women, all taking care of their bodies, and all being incredibly supportive of me. So.Freaking.Cool. Thank you guys for your support and for sending me your pictures!!

So what about you men out there? Are you manly enough to sport the PaleOMG men’s shirt like my friend here? He looks wicked good in it! I know you will too! Click here to purchase yours today!! And email me your pics of yourself in your PaleOMG shirt! I don’t care if you’re eating a bowl of ice cream covered in oreo cookies while sporting the shirt, I still want to see how awesome you look in it!

Let’s talk about food.

  • Yield: 4 1x

Ingredients

Scale

For the burgers

  • 1lb ground turkey
  • 1/4 red onion, minced
  • 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 poblano pepper, diced
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fat (I used bacon fat)

For the slaw

  • 1 small head of cabbage or bag of cabbage, chopped
  • 2 avocados
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

First make your burgers

  1. Add all your ingredients for your burgers in a large bowl.
  2. Shape small burger patties.
  3. Heat up a large skillet under medium heat with a bit of fat in it (I used bacon fat) and add your sliders. Flip after about 3-5 minutes or when you see the sides of your sliders begin to turn a white color (meaning they are cooking through).

Now make your slaw

  1. Pull out your handy dandy food processor, add all your ingredients for the slaw other than the cabbage and pulse until smooth.
  2. Pour your avocado “mayo” on the cabbage and mix. Top off with a bit of salt and pepper.
  3. Place your cabbage on a plate and top off with your sliders!
  4. Consume!

This looks super yum! I have had a head of cabbage hanging out in my fridge for the last week waiting for me to do something with it (yes, I am a fellow food hoarder!). Thanks for the recipe!

Dammit, now I want a bowl of ice cream covered in Oreo cookies. Apple chips will have to suffice.

Thanks for checking out the site Laura!! Go alaska girl go!!

      1. Laura says:

Turkey sliders were delish!! The slaw with avocado dressing was …different. Had to try it tho. Raw cabbage in my gut made for interesting next day!! Made only small batch, saved avocado stuff to just eat by itself. Love it. :). Maybe savoy cabbage would have been better than my stuff in the bag. Hmm?

        1. juli says:

          Glad you liked it Laura!

  10. Rebecca says:

Okay, that’s it… how about we just agree that you put together a book with all of these recipes in it so that I can stop the endless printing that I do?? I must have a whole reem’s worth of paper in printed out recipes from your site scattered throughout my kitchen! 🙂 A book would be AWESOME! (you know… because you’re just not busy enough). By the way, your Enchilada Chicken Stew is my husband’s favorite meal that I’ve EVER cooked and I’ve gotten a ton of rave reviews of it from my coworkers who have to watch me eat it! It’s awesome served over a salad or as lettuce wrap filling! This recipe looks like another winner as usual! Dang.. there goes that printer again! LOL (can’t wait for the caramel bar recipe… just sayin’)

    1. juli says:

Rebecca, I would absolutely LOVE to put together a cookbook. I just don’t know where to start or who to talk to!! That will be awesome once that day comes!

      1. Rebecca says:

Between you, the Civilized Caveman and all of your contacts, there must be SOMEONE who can hook a girl up with a cookbook deal?!? 🙂 We definitely need one from you!!! I’m sure they’d go FLYING off of the shelves (or, internet)!!

        1. juli says:

          Fingers crossed someday!

          1. Katie says:

Dude! Seriously! A cookbook is definately needed. I’d buy it in a heartbeat. Day three of trying recipes from your site and yet another winner. The avocado slaw rocks. I LOVE avocados and am always excited to find new uses. I can’t tell you how much your site has helped ease our families transition to Paleo. I heart you!

          2. juli says:

I totally wish I had one, someday, someday!! Glad you liked the slaw!!
