If you’ve been following along here on the blog or instagram, you know things have been pretty crazy with our pup Jackson. Emergency surgery, post-surgery complications, vet hospital changes, kidney disease, blood clots, and more. But after 16 days, Jackson was lucky enough to come home and start his healing process with us. And because of that, we ended up cancelling a trip to Hawaii since we knew he would need multiple pills, multiples times per day, and he would need to be trained at home to not jump on or off the couch anymore. We pretty much needed to be home with him 24/7 for a while. And that timing seemed to work out since most of America (and even many parts of the world) is also now home 24/7.
If you had a trip planned and found some outfits you were dying to wear in warmer weather, not to worry. It’s time to make those outfits work overtime! If you’re like me and using this time at home to work harder than ever, well your outfits better do the same! Today I’m going to share some pieces I had planned for Hawaii and how I’m wearing them right now, plus I’ll be sharing some other pieces that will be versatile this spring then moving into summer.
Something I LOVE wearing come spring is a midi dress. Since it’s a little longer, it keeps the legs just a tad warmer if there is a light spring breeze in the air. I recently snagged this Leopard Print Ribbed Midi Dress from Express to wear for a date night out in Hawaii, but since that exact night will have to wait, I can now turn it into a warmer, more casual look by adding a basic striped t-shirt on top and a moto jacket. This dress can easily be dressed up or dressed down depending on the shoes you wear with it and how you layer it.
And that’s one of the key components to double duty spring pieces – layers will make all the difference. Here are 4 different ways to wear the dress while our spring weather still figures out what it wants to do –
- Wear this Midi Dress with a pair of Black Pumps for a date night out
- Wear this Midi Dress with a Balloon Sleeve Sweater tucked into a Snakeskin Wrap Belt and a pair of Mule Booties
- Wear this Midi Dress with a Long Sleeve Turtleneck Top with Clear Heeled Slide Sandals
- Wear this Midi Dress with a casual Suede Moto Jacket and Strappy Flat Sandals
This Midi Dress is so versatile and I’ll be able to wear it all spring and summer long, no matter what the weather throws at me. But the best part is that it’s on sale right now for 30% off! And if leopard print isn’t your style, you can also find it here in black, navy, and brown!
And Express has even more than just this dress to help you make the most out of your wardrobe this spring. Plus they have a huge sale going on right now, up to 50% off on select styles, so you can find the perfect look that will work overtime for you! Below I’m sharing 4 different looks that will be great for mixing-and-matching this spring then into summer. You’ll see pieces like this stunning Slip Dress that shines by itself for a date night out or it can be dressed down when paired with a long sleeve top. And you’ll find Cami Crop Top that will look great with a long skirt in spring then adorable with a pair of high waisted jean shorts come summer!
During these uncertain times, everything feels a little off. But that doesn’t have to be the case when it comes to your upcoming wardrobe. Express will make sure you feel your best with wardrobe staples that go the extra mile! Hopefully these looks give you some ideas on how to put your looks to work this spring and summer.
