So I’m not one to talk about work attire. Or even happy hour attire. My at-home work attire consists of the pajamas I woke up in, sometimes leggings if I just got back from the gym, and I’m often really crushing the day if I’ve actually brushed my teeth before noon. BUT I often have people ask me about dressing for work and the best places to shop for work clothes, and honestly, most work attire clothes are boooooring. Same ole skirt, same ole top, same ole jeans on casual Friday. Blah.

But I have an outfit for you today that would look amazing not only at work, but out with friends afterwards. And then I have 4 other outfits built for you to help you stay inspired with your work wardrobe and feeling your best both in your personal AND business life!

PaleOMG - Style Straight From Work to Happy Hour

This wide leg black jumpsuit from ModCloth comes in size XXS to 4X, it’s incredibly comfortable and it helps you stand out with fine metallic threads sewn throughout that make you shine at unexpected moments. Even when I threw this jumpsuit on and it began to snow outside, I was still incredibly warm and comfortable! The jumpsuit ties are the waist and comes with a v-neck, so you’re able to have some shape and movement to your look, even while still covering up! And the waist is elastic, it’s machine washable and it even has pockets, so no matter what you have going on at work and if you are going 100 miles per hour, you’ll still be comfortable throughout the day and every other time you wear it!

But if a jumpsuit isn’t your style, I put together 4 other looks plus my other favorite ModCloth pieces that would be perfect for work settings or even just out with friends, sipping on a cocktail!

High Waisted Pants and a Flowy Top Look

This bottleneck top (which also comes in black) goes perfectly with a pair of high waisted pants so no matter which way you turn and how many meetings you have to run to, you’ll never be showing off too much skin around the waist and you’ll never have to worry about a plumber situation when you stand up and sit down during meetings! And this outfit goes perfectly with cognac tote that you can pack all your paperwork and even your computer in (and it comes in multiple colors)!

Floral Dress with a Black Trench Coat Look

If a dress is more your style, this burgundy floral dress cascades a floral pattern around the hips and gives the body a beautiful hourglass shape from all the beautiful details! Keep it professional at work in this dress then throw over this simple black trench coat on top for a more edgy look to head out with friends for a drink after!

Pink Wrap Dress with a Cape Jacket Look

Wrap dresses are perfect for work. They give you a beautiful shape, accentuate the waistline, while still looking professional and put together! Dress this wrap dress up with a fun cape jacket like no one else has (which would look adorable with a pair of flare jeans) and make the whole outfit pop with a matching pink crystal watch!

Striped Skirt and Pops of Teal Look

A high waisted skirt is a must in any wardrobe and this black and white striped pleaded skirt makes a statement and goes with almost anything, so you’ll be able to wear it time and time again! I paired it with a high-neck ruffle top and accessories that pop! This teal faux suede bag and teal crystal watch are sure to turn heads and get many questions because they are bold and a sure-fire hit, just like you at work!

PaleOMG - Style Straight From Work to Happy Hour

But if none of those looks suit your fancy, here are my other favorite pieces from the ModCloth collection that are professional but definitely lack nothing when it comes to statement and style!

you think this outfit would look good on someone with a “pear” shape body type?

    1. juli says:

i think it works for any body shape, as long as you’re comfortable and confident in it. my size had some room still in the hips so just make sure you find a size that works for your own hips!

:oving your HAIR! The jumpsuit is gorgeous, and I love how you paired it with the burgundy bag. I always have trouble finding jumpsuits for shorties (I’m only 5’1″) where the crotch hits at the right spot!

I would LOVE this look for work! I love that it is not a typical office attire, but still very professional. I always love an all black outfit at work because it is effortless. Thanks for sharing this look 🙂

holy shit, I need this romper in my life ASAP. I don’t even have an office job. I paint in my home studio, but I feel like I would paint more beautifully in this romper. The other day I put on false eyelashes just for fun bc your make video was so inspiring. It was a pretty epic fail, but maybe I’ll get better with practice. Thanks for another great week of amazing content! You’re so inspiring in every way!

    1. juli says:

omg lashes are a total pain in the ass at first. i can’t tell you how many epic fails i have had lol but it really does get better with practice!

  9. Pamela says:

Your legs look 6 feet long in that jumpsuit! It is very flattering on you.

*sigh* Tried the false eyelash thing at Christmas. A total fail. But perhaps your tutorial would help! (never give up, never surrender…)

    1. juli says:

awwww thank you for the kind words, pamela!

  10. Sore mom says:
