Oh, Hi! I’m Juli.

I’m a food hoarder. And a really bad dancer. If you don’t know me well, you will probably not understand my humor. Therefore, I apologize ahead of time. Thanks for listening to my ramblings of my ever-changing life and trusting my kitchen mishaps. Your trust in me is appreciated.

  1. I appreciated your ep last week. Your point of view is fresh, and totally worthy of being said. Keep doing you girlfriend.

  2. My heart just about broke for you listening to this episode. Juli, stay strong, my friend. You are brave and inspiring for speaking out. For every troll with nothing better to do than spew his/her vitriol all over the Internet, there are tons of us who think you’re an awesome, kick-ass woman. And your hit the nail on the head – the people that are attacking you for speaking out are trying to shame and silence a strong woman from speaking her truth. Keep speaking your truth, Juli. People who can’t handle it need to grow up and learn some empathy.

  3. Juli,

You are fantastic and bring an awesome freshness and humility to everything you do/say share. My best friend and i have been following you since 2011. We love Paleomg!!

  4. Girl, I didn’t get to message you after episode 105, but you hit the nail on the head when you said – this is not about politics or race or sex, it’s about HUMANITY. If people can’t get this basic concept, it’s on them. Please keep speaking your truth because you are the best! xoxo

  5. I’m here to just offer my support and encouragement because your episode last week was completely relatable and was really helpful for me to hear. My family is very conservative and for some reason thinks the recent uproar from women is stupid so often I feel like the crazy odd-man-out. Fortunately I have a few *really* solid lady friends who are on the same wavelength as me, and last week proved that you are too. You said your goal with the podcast is for listeners to feel like they’re having a convo with a friend and clearly you have accomplished that with me! I’m really glad and appreciative you published that podcast.

    1. oh man, that must be really hard to have family that doesn’t fully understand. but i’m glad you have your friends to chat with about it all. and thank you so much for the support!! so cool to hear that my podcast is coming across how i want it to!

  6. Thank you so much for talking about this. I’m glad you’ve been able to focus on the positives and all the women you’re helping by sharing your story, instead of letting the haters bring you down. I can’t even fathom how anyone, but especially any woman, could have anything negative to say to you about sharing a story like that.

    1. it’s so easy to drown in the negative, but pushing through to the positive is way less exhausting. excited to hear from positive people out there who want to share their stories!

  7. I am just appalled there would be any backlash from someone just sharing their personal experience on their own podcast. It says a lot about a person who would attack someone for sharing their experience. Honestly though, you are a big name with a big reach and sad as it may be, attacking you is the only way they’ll get even just a little bit of your success. It’s ploy on their part for attention.
    Keep being apologetically you! 🙂

    1. haha i don’t know about that. but it was definitely hard to see. luckily i have people like you guys who listen to the podcast and make the backlash worth it!

  8. Your last episode was actually my favorite episode of your podcast ever and I have listened to every episode. You are amazing and nothing would ever change if we listened to the negative haters! Keep doing what you’re doing! You are making a difference!

  9. Lindsey Gottardy

Your blog and podcast always make me smile, laugh and I absolutely love your message on woman empowerment last week – Don’t let the haters get you down this world needed to hear your message.

Thanks for being a bad ass, I want to be you in my future life! I love encouraging positivity especially with women 🙂 Keep kickin’ it!

  10. Love you Juli! It was so brave and amazing for you to share your stories. Be you, you don’t have to hide. I am here for you, not just the food. YOu are one of my favorite pretend social media friends. You continue to inspire me and I love how you are building out your business. You are my go to for recipes and fashion ideas! xoxoxo Deirdre

  11. I think it was brave and real and vulnerable for you to have recorded last week’s episode, as well as this week’s follow-up. I think the stakes are too high right now to not talk about it.

I love listening to your podcasts because it feels like I am talking to a friend. (Well, to be fair, you are the only one doing the talking, but you know what I mean.) These last two episodes just reinforced the connection you have the ability to create because it’s just life. Things come up, important things, and we need to talk about them. If we don’t, it just perpetuates the problem.

    Thank you, Juli.

    1. thank you so much for the support, Lindsay. you are totally right when you say it will perpetuate the problem. time to continue to speak up and out!

  12. I’ll never understand how people can be offended by you sharing your truth. It’s FAR more offensive that you had to experience the things you did. It was brave to share your experiences, and even more brave to continue to share your message in such a vulnerable way after people attacked you (WTF is WRONG with them?!).

You’re SO strong, both physically and mentally. Keep it up!

PS – I ordered some of your athletic gear and can’t wait to get it! 😉

    1. thank you so much for the love Chelsea!! so so sweet of you to take the time to leave a comment! and YAY!! so pumped for you to get your gear!

  13. I related to your words from your last podcast 100% and appreciate you talking through your story with us. Echoing others here, I cannot understand how anything you said would bring backlash but unfortunately that’s where we are. I have followed you (everywhere) for a long time because of your authenticity and your dope recipes 🙂

    Thank you, thank you!!

    1. it definitely wasn’t my intention and it blows, but i also understand it to some degree too. i think a lot of people thought i was throwing them under the bus, but that was no my intention. i guess sometimes you just gotta do what is best for you. thank you for the longterm support, ryan! i really appreciate it!

  14. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I truly appreciate those that I follow who can take even just a few moments out of their day to speak to what’s going on. You’re 100% right that this is a humanity issue and I think that anyone who wants to debate that statement is hiding behind an insecurity, fear, or obvious political bias of their own. I’ve always enjoyed your point of view and candor and your Time’s Up podcast just reiterated why.

  15. Pretty sure these past 2 podcast episodes have been my favorite so far. You just get so real and relatable. I’m so sorry you went through that experience, and screw all the people who feel strong behind their keyboards and send you hate mail! I’ve really loved your blog and instagram, and your podcast always makes me smile. BTW on this latest podcast you asked how listening to your podcast or reading your blog has changed our lives- well for me, you’ve taught me its cool for girls to lift heavy weights! My whole life I was told that “guys don’t like bulky girls” and “cut calories, only do cardio, look like a weirdo lifting 2 pound weights” and now I realize lifting heavy isn’t just cool but it’s actually really empowering. So yeah thanks for giving me the confidence to go to the “real weight room” with the bro’s and do actual squats and deadlifts 🙂
    Keep doing what you do!

    1. that’s amazing Emily!! good work! it’s amazing how empowering lifting weights can be and i’m so glad i could introduce you to that! and thank you so much for the love and kind words! you have no idea how much it means after the past couple weeks

  16. I just love you and your podcast SO much. I absolutely cannot thank you enough for always being true to yourself. That podcast was so damn important and I want you to know how much it meant to me that you were brave enough to take that on.

  17. You are 100% right! The fact that you got any backlash blows my mind…it is 2018. I love this blog and the podcast so much, you always speak your mind for me it’s like having my friends in the car. Anytime I need a recipe you are my first stop, you are my wardrobe inspiration and skin guru. Most importantly your take on things like no food is a “cheat”, and body positivity is a great reminder for me (and everyone). I am going back to school for nutrition and you are definitely one of the top blogs that gives me the inspiration to dive into this business.

Basically you are F***ing crushing it.

    1. thank you so freaking much for the kind words! it definitely sucked and i’ve felt the suck for a while now so i really appreciate this comment!
