I don’t know about where you live, but here in Colorado, it gets coooooold. Thankfully we have sunshine most days but when it decides it wants to go freezing on us, I hate everything. I DO NOT like the cold. Whatsoever. I’m honestly surprised I still live in Colorado with how much I hate the cold. But as I get older, I just find ways around it. Like going on vacations in the middle of winter (hello Mexico!!) and investing in coats that will last forever and shield me from any lower temperatures outside. That’s where Nordstrom always comes in handy!

PaleOMG Fashion - The Warmest Coats For The Entire Family

Nordstrom has so many coats and jackets to choose from, including Canada Goose which has their winter coat craftsmanship perfected. And their eye for detail in each coat is incredibly obvious the second you grab the coat. When I received my Canada Goose Fur Trimmed Hooded Parka, I instantly knew it would be one of the warmest coats I had ever put on. And it was! These coats were made to withstand freezing temperatures up to -22 F and each coat is filled with duck down blend and water repellent outside, both keeping you from feeling any of the cold air around you.

Many of the coats and jackets have long sleeves with internal knit cuffs, fleece-lined pockets, and around 625-fill duck down insulation so no matter which one you choose for you or your family member, you’ll always be comfortable and cozy.

And this time of year is the perfect time to bundle up and stay warm no matter the elements. And Nordstrom is always my favorite place to shop for myself or someone else because their exchange and return policy is so convenient! So if the Canada Goose jacket doesn’t fit you or your family member perfectly, they will make it right! Their customer service is the most convenient and excellent customer service that I’ve ever dealt with. So whether you’re shopping for the perfect insanely warm coat for yourself, your husband, your kids or even a charity you love (especially around the holidays) Nordstrom has you covered!

Wish Canada Goose were less expensive. $725 is a bit out of my price range unfortunately!

These coats are really cute. I’m all for buying quality that lasts a long time, but these coats are a little out of my price range as well.

Off topic but what boots are those? Can you provide a link?! I NEED them!

L.L. Bean provides a Lifetime Warranty on their products and they are much less expensive than those horrible coats that you, as an animal lover, should be ashamed for promoting. If you really NEED to have a down jacket Patagonia uses humanely sourced down, is less expensive, and also has an amazing warranty program that I’ve used successfully.
Seriously disappointed that you would choose to promote a company like that for a payday.

i’m sorry you feel that way, cat. i had no idea about any sort of animal cruelty!

Juli, I never want to be an internet troll and I respect you and your choices but I’m curious as to why you would promote a brand that stands for animal cruelty with the influence and reach you have? There is no reason to promote real fur this day in age, there are so many other alternatives that are just as effective for warmth.

I think you’re great and your recipes are fantastic, just thought it was necessary to give my 2 cents in this situation and ask that next time you promote a brand think of the implications it may have.

    1. juli says:

i honestly had no clue about any sort of animal cruelty and i didn’t even know the fur was real fur because i’m so use to companies using faux fur so i didn’t even think about checking that. but they have more coats without fur so it’s pretty easy to get your hands on a jacket that does not have any fur on it. i’m sorry for upsetting you!

It’s not just the fur, the down is also cruelly sourced. I love you/your recipes/your social media and of course respect the choices you make, but I do agree that it’s important to know where some of these clothes are sourced from. Just something to think about for future promotions :). I hope these comments don’t make you feel alienated or defensive–not my intent AT ALL. I just wanted to tell you about what I’d heard about Canada Goose. Have a great weekend!

      thanks for the info!!

    2. Jenn says:

Just google Canada Goose, tons of videos pop up showing both coyote and geese being killed. Its heartbreaking. $895 is crazy for a coat.

        thanks for the info, jenn!

Just a thought, I am all for humane treatment and killing of animals, but do we not eat meat from the grocery store? Using animals for warmth as well as nutrition does not seem that far off for me, maybe cut the girl a break. Yes, we should all try to be conscientious, but just because an animal is sourced for clothing rather than food should not make it more cruel. This is a paleo site, after all. Where I live it can drop to -122 F, and the truth is synthetic down just is not the same for warmth. Not everyone needs the real stuff, but it does make a difference.

    1. juli says:

thanks for giving a different viewpoint!! i definitely see both sides and wasn’t trying to upset anyone!

    2. Jill says:

Canada Goose has a horrible reputation for HOW they source their down and fur. That’s the main issue. Their practices are cruel and inhumane, and that’s why the company should not be supported. This information is a very quick Internet search away, and it’s sad to see that no background research is done whatsoever when promoting a product, especially nowadays when it’s so easy to gain insights into a company’s supply chain practices.

I think the jacket is gorgeous, and if I lived somewhere colder, I would totally be asking for one of this for a Christmas gift or something. Addressing the fur part of this and not the down portion – it seems to me that the fur is coyote fur, which is considered a varmint almost everywhere and they are trapped to keep their population in check. If their population gets too out of control they wander into towns or near homes and will become destructive and deadly in those situations. Growing up in a cattle ranching family, and hunting for the meat that goes on my table I wanted to share that I think it’s great that the fur from an animal many people kill to protect their animals/livestock is being put to good use, and it’s beautiful too.
