Sure, it’s not even fall yet, but it will be soon. Just the other morning, I woke up to 49 degrees outside. Was I happy about it?! Absolutely not. I was hella pissed. I would prefer it to stay summer forever. BUT as I type this, I am sitting in the shaded backyard in 76 degree weather, in pants, with no back sweat and that’s pretty wonderful, I can’t lie.
It’s already September which means October will be next and I will be stocking up on pumpkin puree and watching Hocus Pocus 27 times throughout the month. And then you know what happens next? BOOM. Winter. Straight up out of no where we will be knee high in snow, scraping ice off our car windows, and I will not be leaving the house for 5 months. Except to go to Cabo. I’ll leave for Cabo.
In order to keep myself from hibernating completely, I decided it was time to invest in a beautiful coat for winter so I could keep wearing some of my favorite looks, instead of just workout clothes. Last winter, I would find myself all dressed up and ready to head out for a date in the freezing cold, but I didn’t have a coat to match that look. So I would have to cover it up with a huge puffy coat instead. Not my favorite.
So this year I decided it was time to invest in a coat that I absolutely adored and knew I would wear time and time again. I wanted something timeless, long and incredibly warm so I could stay happy on date night no matter what it entailed. When I’m trying to decide what items I will spend more on and where I need to save, I will always spend more when it comes to winter coats. And because of that, my winter coats and jackets have lasted so long. And that’s what finding a timeless piece is all about – having something in your closet you can wear over and over without much wear and tear. And getting your money’s worth!
And to find that perfect winter coat, I turned to my absolute favorite place to shop – Nordstrom. Nordstrom always has tons of coats, jackets, sweaters, boots…really anything winter related, they have it! So no matter if you’re looking to splurge on a winter jacket or pinch your pennies on a comfy sweater, they have all those items. You can shop by price, color, length, and material, all until you find the perfect look you are going for. So that’s what I did! I found this perfect cream winter wrap coat to splurge on and I saved on my other outfit choices. I snagged the heels for 40% off and the sweater was under $70! Nordstrom made it super easy to start loading up on winter gear so I’m not left completely surprised the first morning there is snow on the ground. And I know I will be wearing this coat on repeat throughout the season…and many seasons after that! Such an awesome find!

For your podcast, can you talk about your experience with Botox more? What areas have you had done (crows feet, glabellas, etc)?
i didn’t see this until i recorded my podcast, but i talked about it a little bit on there. i get it in my forehead and between my eyebrows! i’ve never done it for crows feet!
You look gorgeous!! I love the color of the sweater and the coat!! I have the exact same problem, I don’t have a nicer coat I can wear out to dinner so I will definitely look into this option! Thanks for the great work you put into this!!

Ugh I love your style and one too many of these coats! It doesn’t really get that cold in LA but heck I still want a few, and by the way I love your podcasts and the instastories with Jackson are everything (he is the cutest)!!!

Speaking of winter investment items, have you done a post on your favorite boots? I love Nordstrom for their boot selection, but can’t decide what brand is worth investing in. Thanks for always keeping me inspired in multiple facets of life!
