All I’ve been craving in sweet potatoes, nutella, chocolate, and ummmmm more sweet potatoes, in fry form. That’s all I’ve wanted. Thankfully I’ve been eating other stuff, but I don’t know what the hell is going on. No, I’m not pregnant. And no, it’s not that time of the month. You should know that by now if you’ve read my blog regularly. Gross. I’m gross.
I kind of want ice cream.
Ok, enough about food. This blog is a food blog, I shouldn’t be talking about it. Just kidding. Let’s talk about these banana breads. I wanted banana bread the other day and ended up making it without nuts or seeds, which I haven’t done before. I’m not really sure if a coconut is a seed or a fruit, but I don’t really care because my body gets along with coconuts. I’m sure someone will tell me on my blog. That’s usually how I learn stuff.
I got my nails AND toes done yesterday. My feet feel lighter. I’m pretty sure it’s been 7 years since I got a pedicure. SEVEN YEARS. Do you know how many calluses build up in 7 years? While doing CrossFit. And wearing shoes that don’t take very good care of my feet. Either way, my toes look pretty good at this point. I have ugly toes so I need as much help as I can get. I’m so excited to get sandals.
Never once did I think I would say that. My life is so different compared to last year, it’s ridiculous. Last year, I was wearing CrossFit clothes constantly, working out multiple times a day, never taking off my tennis shoes (mostly because they smell terrible), Rx’ing every workout, and rarely taking off my headband. I now get my toes and nails done, suck at workouts, style my hair about 60% of the time, drink bloody marys more often than not, and shop online more than I ever thought I would. ModCloth is doing well off of me. I’m even going shopping for jeans twice in one week after crying in the dressing room last time. But I’m definitely getting jeans this time around. I’m not letting any jeans get me down, like I would have last year. Anyone know a good seamstress in Denver? I think I’m gonna need it.
I just ate sweet potatoes and there is grease on my keyboard. I’m a terrible blogger.

Would love to make this without the eggs – do you think chia seeds substituted for the eggs would work? Can’t wait to give it a go 🙂
i’m not sure but it’s worth a try!
I use flax meal for an egg substitute
Always so much fun to read your blog. You are like talking to a nutty friend on the phone. So much fun, and yet so smart – love your recipes!!!
i guess if you want to get technical, coconut is a seed. the “fruit” would be the green, outer skin. the flesh and milk are all the internals of a seed. ^_^ yay, nut free! lol.
(btw, a friend led me here after raving about your coconut treats. amazing stuff here!)
Just got your cookbook! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! I want to make everything! I see a few recipes call for protein powder. What do you get that is dairy free?
Those look so moist and delicious!
Duman’s on Colfax is a great tailor. They are fast and affordable! (between Logan and Pennsylvania)
you rock!
Got your cookbook about a week ago now. Sadly I have not had time to really dig into it yet (just started Crossfit so between that and work and attempting to maintain my body’s proper adrenal function…yeah). It looks fab though and I’m definitely going to spend some QT with it this weekend.
What I really wanted to tell you is that I’ve been having some rather persistent and annoying acne lately, like the kind you just can’t get rid of and seems to stick around forever – and I’ve recently started putting castor oil on it as a “spot” treatment at bedtime. Now, keep in mind that it is messy, as in gets on your clothes and bed linens if you aren’t careful, but it totally is working. I also really like green pastures beauty balm but it just wasn’t working with this most recent battle. So yeah, castor oil all the way.
Another great spot treatment is Lugol’s iodine. That’s what I use for my really tough pimples. I apply it with a really small makeup brush (like a concealer brush), let it sink in, then apply a few more times. Always before bed, because it stains the area for a few hours! It has never failed to dry up a pimple. Be careful about getting it on the surrounding skin though, it will cause major dryness (hence the small applicator brush).
Hey Juli!
For jeans, definitely check out
High Country Western Wear. I’ve cried in many-a-dressing rooms because of the same problems – too small in the butt and thighs, too big in the waist. They make awesome jeans there. (And no, they aren’t the creepy old lady western “mom” jeans). Plus, if you dig sweet cowboy boots, its a double bonus. Hope this helps! (Ps…I have a serious addiction to your banana bread. Its a problem)

Good luck lady!
Perfect timing, I have a bunch of bananas I need to use up today!
For jeans, check out the brand KUT. You can find them at macys.com, and for me, they seem to alleviate that waist gap problem. I have some junk in my truck and muscular thighs – at least I’m calling them muscular. 😉 I’ve also heard that Honey by Joe’s Jeans has a good fit. Good luck! 🙂
