It’s like breakfast, in one bit. Genius. But really, of all the different donut recipes I’ve made, this by far is my favorite recipe. I gave these away as fast as possible so I wouldn’t eat all 6 of them I made.
So guess what’s happening soon?? Meaning tomorrow. THE NEW YEAR! OMGnewyearsresolutions. I’m not huge on New Year’s Resolutions. I am more into doing something that very minute, without thinking much about it. I tend to get myself into trouble that way, but whatevs. New Year’s Resolutions make me feel like if I don’t accomplish them, I’m a complete failure. And personally, I don’t love feeling like a failure. I’m an only child. Us only children don’t like that.
But this year, I feel like being brave. And not failing. So I’m going to make New Year’s Resolutions. Yes I am. I’m not totally sure what all these resolutions are yet, but I’m gonna pull them out of my ass. Here we go.
- Write my second cookbook. Yes, that would be wonderful. Have you heard about my first one?!
- As you know, I plan 2013 to be the year of sexy Juli. Yes. I’m going to be sexier. Not sure how. But it will include more confidence. And more clothes. And shoes. Tall shoes. Tall shoes make me feel sexy.
- Run more. I hate running. Hate it. So I’ve been running a lot more lately. I ran 5 miles the other day and literally.almost.died. Thankfully I had one of me and Sergio’s favorite songs to listen to. Love on top by Beyonce. He will never admit it out loud, but he loves it. So it made me smile and forget about my shoes filing with blood. Running is the worst.
- Be cleaner. I’ll be the first to admit it, I don’t like cleaning. Especially my room. Or bathroom. And Laura doesn’t either. So I need to get it together and act more like a Type A human. And clean. Sexy people have clean houses.
That’s all I got for now. I’ll come up with more. Don’t you worry. I’m having friends over tonight for champagne. It’s easy to come up with thing you need to work on when you’re consuming a depressant.
But with the new year sneaking up on us so quickly, I know lots of us are thinking about getting healthier. Usually our ass size along with that health. At least I do. I think about my ass size on a regular basis. Anywho, I like telling you guys about different ways to take care of yourself and your body. Because, well, gyms are expensive. Especially CrossFit gyms, which I’m super into. So I got something cool to tell you about. You excited? GET EXCITED.

Bahahahaha! @ your reply to Paleomastah! Anyhoo….just wanted to know you have a fan all the way over here in South Korea (hubby is in the Army) and I’ve been saving this recipe until I could find a donut pan over here. Hubby found one today and these little babies were well worth the wait! OMG is right! Trying to decide if I should eat another one??? I worked out really hard today at the box….okay, you conviced me! Keep up the excellent work….look forward to your blog everyday!
These are amazing!
haters haters the whole wide world is full of haters. I love the paleo life style and ive been doing it for almost three month! this recipe looks delicious and im about to go shopping at whole foods which is my hobby lol. i also wondering if i cut replace the chocolate chips to 85 dark chocolate instead i think it will be good with the bitterness. keep up the great work !
Do you recommend storing these in the fridge? That is, assuming there are any left to store…
haha yes, store them in the fridge in a container 🙂
There is way too much sugar in these to be considered paleo – I hope those new to paleo aren’t fooled. Easy to blow this off but really isn’t something anyone on a paleo diet should eat without knowing this is huge deviation from this lifestyle.
Dates, bananas, honey are loaded with (natural) sugar. Yes, looks great and avoids refined sugar but will not help someone rid the body of sugar addiction and follow this lifestyle.
I look for ways to stay as paleo as possible but also know I want things that feel like bread or similar now and then. So looking for recipes led me here.
I understand. Then don’t make these. Not forcing u to 🙂
I made these today as mini-muffins (I didn’t have a donut pan)….holyohmygeezus! Delicious!!
Made these today but only had milk chocolate chips so I used them to put on top of 3 of the donuts for my son. Left the chocolate off of the rest which I ate before they could cool completely. I don’t care what anyone says. Recipes like this help ME stay as paleo as possible. Natural sugar is a whole lot better than what I used to shovel into my body. Keep up the good work. Love your website!
Pulling these out of the oven now as muffins, cannot wait!!! No chocolate but they are a perfect Saturday breakfast treat to go with my salmon and veggie scramble. Going paleo is hard and having your awesome recipes to help ween myself off sugars has been amazing, thanks!
ok I’m finally gonna break down and buy one of these dang donut pans, Juli keeps putting these recipes out there tempting me so I’ve finally given in lol. Anybody know the best place to get one?
Love this recipe and I can’t wait to try it!
i got mine at bed, bath and beyond!
Sorry if this has already been asked, but there’s a lot of comments, and I’m running short on time. But would a donut maker work for this rather than a pan? I just bought one and have been itching to use it. It’s sort of like the cake pop makers if you’re familiar with them. Also, do the bananas have to be really ripe, like mushy, like banana bread? Or will a yellow banana do? Thank you, and I can’t wait to try this, this looks amazing! You are by far my favorite site for recipes! 🙂
i honestly have no clue, i’ve never used a donut maker like that
