{ NEW VIDEO }
If you’re coming to this post, I’m guessing you’re thinking I have some badass giant closet to show you. Sadly, I’m not some instagram influencer with a walk-in closet bigger than most people’s homes. You can’t walk into my closet and be greeted by a white marble palace with multiple islands filled with drawers of expensive jewelry. Yeah no. I live in a 1950’s home with small rooms and small closets. But since part of my job is creating new outfit inspiration for you guys, our shared small bedroom closet just wasn’t cutting it.
In our home we have 3 bedrooms. When we first moved in, my husband wanted both of those rooms to be guest bedrooms. But here’s the thing – we don’t have that many friends to come stay with us that we actually need 2 guest bedrooms. And since babies are not on the agenda, I pushed for an office in one of our guest bedrooms. Push and you may receive. That sounds weird. Well I got that second bedroom for my office and I set up shop next to the window to take my food photos and store all my plates, forks, bowls, glasses and everything else for photos. Problem was, that room quickly started turning into a second closet for clothing, shoes and accessories that were still in stock online to share with you guys. With time, that room became a NIGHTMARE. At one point my friends stopped by while I was shooting food photos, getting outfits prepped, and prepping recipes for cooking videos…and they saw my closet + office. They saw the true madness of the Cloffice.
And how did they make me feel? They made me feel like a goddamn hoarder. Which was super helpful the day before shooting 8 cooking videos. They looked at me like I was swimming in my own feces. Straight up. But it was kick in the ass I needed to get my sh*t together and get to organizing. And I was especially motivated after organizing my pantry a few months back. So I called up The Container Store and got to organizing.
This is before I had the closet installed. I kept purchasing different organizing systems and clothes racks, but I was quickly running out of space and it was becoming a hot mess.
Now this is after! The system runs from floor to ceiling and there is a spot for every single one of my purses, shoes, jackets, tops, and whatever else!
And before you even ask, no this was not sponsored by The Container Store . That would be rad. My friend Brianna from The School of Betty recommended I check out their elfa System because it really helped her get organized in her own office. I also had another friend who loved it for their pantry. Then once I heard you can hire a designer to come out and create a customized closet for exactly your needs, I was sold. I don’t trust myself to design something like that and I sure as hell don’t trust myself to install it, so the elfa system was perfect for me.
And it was all SUPER easy. Here’s how many steps are involved:
- Contact The Container Store to book an appointment for an elfa consultant to come to your home.
- The elfa consultant will ask exactly what you’re looking for and show you some of the ideas she has. Once he or she knows your preferences, he or she will count every single item you have and come up with an exactly game plan for your space.
- A few days later, you will receive the layout of your installation along with prices. You can then book the appointment for the handyman to come in and install the customized closet (or you can install it yourself).
- Then all you have to do is put everything back in your closet and organize it to your liking. Does that sounds gross? That’s fine. You can hire your consultant to organize it for you.
It’s that easy. I was blown away at how quickly it all came together. And you know what’s the best part? If we decide to move, I can take the elfa System with me! I don’t have to give up all that extra money I put into organizing! Now I walk into this room and I have a sense of calm rush over me. I know where everything is, I can see everything, and everything is in its proper place. It’s lovely!
Now let’s talk about some of my favorites in this Cloffice of mine at the moment. First up – purses! I really love all the storage for crossbody purses, totes, satchels and even clutches in the drawers. And I always have all my Lolë bags at the bottom so I can grab and store them all throughout the week, especially for travel days or just gym days!

Then, duh, shoes. Why are shoes just the best? I have some ugly ass feet (especially right now since fall has hit and I can hide them) and I still love me a pair of peep toe booties. And since fall and winter are both here at moment in Colorado, I have all my favorite booties ready to go for the season, especially my new Sole Society sock booties.

And I can’t forget about the most needed items – the clothing itself. In this cloffice, I store my favorite jeans, sweaters for the season, lightweight jackets, dresses, and a few jumpsuits that I still plan on wearing this winter.

Wait, I almost forgot about accessories! Accessories are a must! And before I had this closet installed, most of my accessories were in a plastic bag with a hole in it or stuffed into a bin in the bottom of my closet. But no more! Now with the jewelry drawer and accessory drawers, I can quickly find my over-the-top earrings, my giant blanket scarves and my sunglasses in no time flat.

Now instead of a room filled with clutter, it’s organized clutter! It may not be some Kim K closet, but it’s a space I’m proud of and a place that creates a sense of calm every time I walk into it. This elfa System has been life changing and life saving. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a space that needs organizing and you don’t know where to start. This process was so incredibly easy, especially around my busy schedule. I hope this gives you a little inspiration and the extra push to get organized yourself. Brianna was right. The clutter in my house was creating chaos in my mind. And as soon as I organized everything, I was able to put that energy from the chaos and distraction into my work! Get after it and get organized! You got this!

Yay! I was so excited to see this after you mentioned it on the podcast. I think I love the pull-out shoe racks the best…SO AWESOME!! And you have an amazing closet of clothes there, girlfriend. Thanks so much for sharing! Great job, as always 🙂
thanks Bethany!!
I am loving the videos on IGTV. They are very well done and I love how real you seem in them. Not like you are reading from a script.
Love your new closet!
thank you so much Jennifer!
Do you have a Lole discount code?!
i do not
Beautiful transformation! I just had someone come help edit (pitch out) and organize my closet and then style outfits with the remaining clothes. Not only does it feel like a monkey off my back but it’s like I have a whole new wardrobe from shopping in my own closet. We can never underestimate the power of living clutter free. More energy available for the important things to be done!
completely agree!
I’ve been waiting for this! Way to go girl! Getting organized is so stink’n worth it. “Clutter breeds chaos.” Exactly.
it’s the beeeeest! now i just need to organize my towel hallway closet that is a complete mess. that chaos is still bugging me.
Love it!! But I feel like you have SO much more you’re holding back….where’s all your workout apparel?!
well me and my husband have a small walk-in closet that we share. and we both have dressers as well. that’s where i store all my workout clothes!
It looks great! I’m loving the video content lately, keep it up! 🙂
thanks Lindsay!
Girl what about the office side? I was curious to see how you worked that out! I’m trying to something similar.
i’ll snag some photos of the other side of the room to add to this post, it’s just not that cute yet. my office side is different than most because it’s all set up for food photos. so instead of a desk, i have a table for wood boards and then a big cabinet where i store all my dishes for the food photos. it’s less than exciting haha
How much did the consultant and installation cost? Looking to do one for my home and wondering a ballpark price. Thanks!
so the fee for the consultation is $100. then the amount cost me around $2500 and the installation was $635!
Where is your jacket and too from? Very cute.
