I don’t know about you, but I feel VERY overwhelmed when I walk into a makeup store, especially now since you can’t try ANYTHING on anymore. No touching, no glamming, no nothing. It makes things very challenging. So hopefully my digging and testing helps you find some products that work for you amid this new 2020 lifestyle. I wonder if we will ever be able to try things on again at stores and not be creeped out by it. I hope so! But until then, I’ll be here to help! I did a little makeup haul recently to see what new products are out there that will be perfect for fall. You ready?
I LOVE Urban Decay Makeup Setting Spray so I was pretty excited to try their Prep Priming Spray, as well. This spray is used BEFORE your makeup to help wake your skin up before you start your day then it can be reapplied later throughout the day to keep your makeup fresh throughout. It’s really lightweight and helps smooth pores before you apply your makeup. I love it!
I recently started using the NYX Wonder Stick for easy contouring and I freaking LOVE it! So I thought I would give Kim Kardashian KKW Contour & Highlight Set a try to see how it compares. What I like about the KKW Contour & Highlight Set is that it comes with 2 sticks, a contour stick and a highlight stick. I normally use the lighter side of the contour stick unless I am looking a little more tan than usual. I like having both options with the contour and highlight stick, but I think the NYX Wonder Stick works just as good and it’s only $12!
And I don’t know about you, but I have the hardest time when it comes to eyelids and not getting that huge crease of makeup as the day goes on. I’ve tried about every eyelid primer and I recently went back to my favorite from YEARS ago, Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. I don’t know why I ever even strayed from it in the first place, but sometimes you need to let the heart grow fonder so it knows what it’s missing. I still have a slight crease at the end of the day, but this Photo Finish Primer holds up pretty damn well for most of the day! And I always pair the shadow with my favorite Ardell Demi Wispies. I love these lashes so much and even when I try a ton of different lashes, I always go back to these! They are full yet natural looking!
I’m always on the hunt for new lip colors and I’ve found that I love bareMinerals the most. I just love their muted pinks because I’ve found that dark or bright lip colors don’t work well with my skin tone, so I go the more nude route. I love the Hydra Smoothing Lipstick the most. I like the Insight color the most because it’s a slight beige color, but it has enough pink in it that you can still see a normal lip color to it. Now if you like nude colors more, the BAREPRO Longwear Lipstick in Peony is a great option. I find that it’s a bit too nude for my liking, but if you like that color, it’s great for fall!
And my absolute favorite fall makeup find is this Too Faced Born This Way Natural Nudes Eyeshadow Palette. I love nudes and pinks for eyeshadow just because I feel like it’s best for my skin tone, and this shadow palette has both matte and shimmer shades to choose from. I use the Swan, Seashell, Cocoa, & Truffle the most and the colors are perfection! Then if I’m going out to dinner, I add a little bit of the Sparkling Sand or the Sparkling Sable. I think this is the perfect every day palette that goes with almost any look!
Makeup shopping pretty much sucks now, let’s be real, so I hope this helps you find some products that work for you and your own skin! Makeup should be fun so maybe this post will bring back that enjoyment we once new before 2020 took us all by surprise.

I always love these posts to see what new products you love! Especially someone who also has acne prone skin. Question, do you still use the nuderma wand (zapper) you used a year or two ago? Curious if it had worked for you.
Thanks!!
yes!! i’m not using it nearly as much as i was when my cystic acne was bad, but i still use it a couple times a week!

If not, totally okay 🙂 Thank you for all you r content! I have been following you for years and love how honest and true you stay to yourself!
