You guys. I’m stuck. Summer is coming, it’s just around the corner. And my legs don’t fit into shorts. I feel like I run into this problem every year. But I’m right there again, and frustrated about it. I left the mall the other day pretty upset. It just blows to get to a point that you’re comfortable in your own skin, then an article of clothing dictates how you feel. So instead of pouting, I bought skirts. Skirts always fit. My inner thighs may sweat and chafe but at least I fit in skirts. Have you found a certain kind of shorts that fit you? More so, that fit the butt and back of the legs? Help me out hereeeee.

I love scarves. All winter long and all sumer long. That is all.

I absolutely adore this top. It is seriously so flattering on any figure and so incredibly comfortable. But these jeans, these jeans are the greatest. I’ve worn these exact pair but in plum, and since they are little bit more high waisted, the never move. I never have to pull them up or mess with them, they just stay in place, happy as can be.

Back to the shorts point. Here’s one of the skirts I bought in order to not cry over spilled milk. This one is super soft but still keeps everything snug. I wore this outfit all day running errands but by the end of the night, I was over booties so I switched to black flats for a little dinner with some friends. Dress it up, dress it down.

Another skirt! Who needs shorts when you can wear skirts all sumer long? Right? Right! That means I need to find a lot more skirts. Remember how I told you I would show you different ways to wear crop tops? Doing it again! If you’re not looking to show much tummy but still like the crop top look, wear a crop top with a high waisted skirt like this look! You can show as little or as much as you want!

I’ve been reading your blog forever and never comment but had to today! I absolutely love that purple skirt! And it looks fabulous on you. And I have to say, I love your fashion posts (probably even more than the food ones). Thanks for sharing!

Rag and bone boyfriend shorts have saved me! They are pricey, but worth it if you have athletic legs and a small waist! Also, Anine Bing boyfriend shorts work well!

I was going to post the exact same link – this product is a godsend!

OMFG I love that last outfit so much!!! I cheat in the summer and half the time I just “dress up” lulu’s speed shorts. I hope you can find some (non-workout) shorts you love!!

After switching my wardrobe, I realized that NONE of my shorts from last summer fit! Not quite a shocker, because I have been trying to gain weight and muscle. But trying to put them on…not good for the trying-to-gain-new-body-confidence department. So, I too have abandoned all notions of shorts for this summer in favor of skirts. No shorts in the gym either, because the lighting is always terrible! Why use bad lighting…I digress…back to SKIRTS! and DRESSES!
…and…every time I try shorts and don’t like the way it looks, I am going to try to stop looking at my legs and starting thinking how much stronger I am now.

Have you tried Jag Jeans? Nordstrom has some styles or there is always Zappos.

I rarely comment here, love your style of writing, and your style! 🙂 Some great advice I’ve been given about finding a great fit in clothes: buy a size that fits the largest part of you and get the rest of it tailored.

Old Navy shorts I swear by them! They’re super cheap-maybe not the highest quality but I swear by them as a crossfitter and a girl with a but!

I was having the same problem with shorts (right after I finished replacing all my jeans this winter too). They were all too small in the butt and thighs when I dug them out this year. I found some I really really like by Jessica Simpson called Indigo Obsession. On sale at Macy’s for only $20 and in two different lengths that I saw. They are denim but feel like pajama pant material. I like that they are small in the hips and have a lot of stretch in the butt/thigh area. Anyways, I really think you will like them. Also: love seeing all your cute outfits every week! I especially like that purple skirt in the last outfit.

I am so with you on the whole shorts issue. I hate going from feeling awesome about my body to a puddle of insecurity in a random dressing room. Not a good look for anyone. Skirts are definitely where it’s at for girls with thighs and booty!
