PaleOMG Fashion + More Wedding Dress Shopping

I am losing it, you guys. Losing it. Buying a house when you’re self employed is absolutely awful. I have to prove seriously pennies that go into my accounts. And run around from place to place to get all of the paperwork that needs to be scanned in. It really feels like a never-ending process. As soon as I got back into Colorado Wednesday night, all I have done is run around everywhere trying to get it all settled. Our closing on our house was suppose to be Thursday but was pushed back to Monday for some reasons. Everything has been approved, but since the inspection was so late, some of the minor issued have to be fixed. It just really feels like this process will never end. Yesterday, I kept saying that I fully regret buying a house…that we could still be renting, still having our landlord fixing any issues, and still have our savings accounts. But everyone keeps saying that I won’t regret it once it’s said and done…we’ll see.

Something that made this process more stressful was another driver rear ended me the night before I left for Pittsburgh last week. Cool, whatever, it happens. But then she refused to take the insurance company’s phone calls for 9 days. NINE DAYS. That meant I had to wait 10 days to do anything with my car. Thankfully I was in Pittsburgh most of that time so I just have to deal with it today. But honestly, I will ALWAYS call the cops in any sort of car accident now because I think she was drunk and got away with it. No joke. She got away with being a drunk driver and didn’t even have the decency to answer her phone when insurance called. It’s so hard to see that kind of stuff when I would NEVER do that. I would own up to my mistakes and fix the problem for the person I hit. It’s tough seeing those kinds of people in this world.

But enough with all the negativity. We ain’t got tiiiiime for that. We need to talk about the positive things. Like spring is officially here, the sun is shining, the grass is greening and I am loving every second of it! This spring means we move into a new house, I finish and turn in the edits to my third cookbook, and we actually start planning our wedding. The wedding planning had to take a back seat because the house took all of our money. But that doesn’t mean I’ve stopped trying on wedding dresses. No way Jose. Let’s get started!

The shoes I’m sporting this week are Sole Society Austin Booties. And they.are.amazing. A friend at the gym came in with her 8 month old prego belly, sporting an adorable dress and booties just like these. It inspired me to get these booties and wear them as much as possible! So I’m bringing 3 outfits all with the same Austin booties! Funny since I leave for Austin soon! Eeeeeek I can’t wait to go to Austin!

Now let’s move onto wedding dress shopping. Remember when I went shopping last time in Portland and found a dress I LOVED. Well I found something that tops it. A couple weeks ago when I posted about dress shopping, someone recommended a designer. So I found a shop in town that had the exact dress I want to try on. It was the first dress I tried on there and I fell.in.love. It makes me feel the way I want to feel on my wedding day. Of course, I’m not showing you that dress, but I’m showing you some of fun ones I tried on at A&Be Bridal Shop. None of the dresses below came close to making me feel the way I felt in THE dress that I found there, but it was still fun trying them all on. Here’s some of the dresses I liked AND disliked.

I LOVED this dress, but it didn’t feel enough like a wedding dress to me. You could really dress it up since the front is so plain, and I loved the shape it gave me, but still not the one.

I have LOVED all of Hayley Paige dresses that I’ve seen so I was really excited to try on one of hers. I loved the dress and loved the shoulder jewelry but it was too heavy for the beach since we are getting married in Jamaica. Still, love her dresses and her style.

I hated this one. It really did nothing for me at all. No shape, no excitement, no thank you.

WHOAAAAAA. When did I become 40 years old? Not that 40 years old is a bad thing, but I am 26 and the front of this dress did not go with my age. The back was pretty cool, but still not my style at all.

I have always wanted to try on a two piece. If you’ve seen any of my Fashion Friday posts, you know I love a good ole’ crop top. So why not do it on my wedding day? My bridal consultant paired this top (that she rolled up to make a crop top) with some of the fun skirts. The top doesn’t match the bottoms because they are different designers, just fyi. I loved the look and how I felt, but still didn’t feel like the one to me.

Now if I can just actually start planning the wedding instead of dress shopping…
