Hello from high in the sky! As you’re reading this, I am off to Phoenix to spend some quality time with my husband and get to know the city a little more. We went to Phoenix last year and stayed in Scottsdale and I fell in love with being in Arizona in the winter. I totally see why people move there once snowy season starts. It is dreamy! So far we have food, spa time, workouts, sleep and maybe a hot air balloon ride planned. I absolutely cannot wait!
And since our trips are always pretty active, my suitcase is usually packed full of athleisure looks. To me, athleisure means items that can put to work in the gym, but still look put together when you’re heading out for coffee or cocktails or whatever you have going on. I know I’m definitely not going home after a workout and venturing back out after I take a shower (pajamas are way more fun), so having items to change into to stay dry, comfortable all while looking your best, is a must! And if you want to know how I keep my hair look pretty decent after a workout, check out my latest hair post!
This is how I build my perfect athleisure look – First I start off with a little trip to Nordstrom to find everything I need to put multiple looks together. Nordstrom makes it super easy because I can find everything I need in one place. From activewear to vacation looks to the perfect dress for a wedding, they always have everything I’m looking for. Then I start with the basics: workout clothes. And a perfect activewear look all starts with the leggings. But since I plan to go out in them afterwards, I always stick with black leggings. And if you buy them at a 7/8 length or longer, you can pair them with a pair of simple black pumps, or knee high boots, or keep it casual with a pair of trendy sneakers. No matter how you dress it up, it will look like you are simply wearing some cute, comfortable leggings. Here are some of my favorite black activewear leggings to play dress up in!
Next up, it’s time to put a little more effort into the look. Once your workout is all finished, it’s time to get rid of that sweaty tank top and put on something that keeps you feeling comfortable, but a little less sporty. And this is where a pullover comes in handy. It’s easy to keep in your gym bag, it doesn’t need to be ironed, and it’s easy to throw on and head right out the door. I have so many pullovers because not only do I wear them to the gym on many days, but they are great to throw on in a pinch when a last minute dinner comes up! Here’s a peek into some of my favorites at Nordstrom right now!
And now for the best part – the coat. If you’re putting together an athleisure look in winter, find a good coat that you will wear time and time again. And make a statement with it! If you’re wearing a pair of leggings and a simple pullover, find a coat that elevates the look and makes you feel so fresh and so clean clean. I found this coat last year through Nordstrom and I can’t count the number of times I’ve worn it. I’ve worn it with a beautiful dress to a wedding, I’ve worn it with a simple pair of jeans and booties, and I always wear it whenever I’m putting together a simple athleisure look like this one! It always makes me feel beautiful and feeling good with what you are wearing will always elevate your look!

And remember, if plans come up out of nowhere after a workout, you can always use Nordstrom’s Buy Online, Pick up in Store service or even use their Curbside Service so you can stay in the comfort of your own car while your items are delivered right to you! This means more time for you to enjoy the little moments…and the cocktails, and the chips, and all the guac…with your friends after you worked your butt off beforehand. You know what they say – work hard, play hard. And this weekend will be filled with just that! Workouts, cocktails, athleisure looks, and enjoy all those little moments in between! Cheers to the weekend!
