What kind of February celebrator are you? Are you the Valentine’s Day celebrator who goes to dinner with your significant other, buys them flowers and gives them little gifts? Or are you the Galentine’s Day celebrator who goes to 50 Shades of Grey with your girlfriends then eats waffles all together, Leslie Knope style? I hope you understand that reference because Leslie Knope deserves to be talked about in every blog post. Ever.
No matter if you’re a Valentine’s Day lover or a Galentine’s Day goer, you deserve to feel your best on this day filled with treats, love and naughty movies.
Don’t act like you’re not excited to see 50 Shades Freed.
I saw a little fact somewhere that, “Approximately 150 million Valentine’s Day cards are exchanged annually, making Valentine’s Day the second most popular card-sending holiday after Christmas.” And I can promise you that I will not be part of that statistic. I find cards incredibly wasteful. Send me one…and it will most likely end in the trash. But you know what never goes to waste in this house? Food and clothing. Food is appreciated by all parties involved, always. And the longer my husband and I are together, the more he begins to appreciate a nice outfit that he feels good in.
For Valentine’s Day this year, my husband and I will be staying away from restaurants and bars and spending quality time together at home…with these cookies. Duh. That’s because later that weekend, we are leaving for a little one-on-one time in Phoenix. Since we aren’t big card or flowers people, I will be baking him some cookies on Valentine’s Day and finding him some great looks for our Phoenix trip at Express. For me, Express is one of the few places I can find outfits for both me and my husband. And since I usually never give gifts because I’m a terrible gift giver, I’m changing it up this year and finding him some new looks he will love for our Valentine’s Day trip. Here’s what I’ll be snagging for him this weekend just in time for our VDay trip!
But of course, I have some Valentine’s Day favorites already saved for myself in my Express cart. Since it’s going to be warm in Phoenix, I’m packing some tees, dresses, and wedges that are all perfect for a few date nights together! I always have a few pairs of jeans packed with me, like these distressed skinny jeans, since Express has some of the best jeans around. But I know I’ll need them for sure, even with 80 degree weather, because we have plans to go in a hot air balloon at 6 in the morning, which means cooler temperatures while we are high up in the sky. Eeeeeeek, I can’t wait!
