Ginger Tahini Cookies
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cook Time: 13 minutes
- Total Time: 23 minutes
- Yield: 12-14 cookies 1x
Ingredients
- 1 cup tahini
- 1 cup maple sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup cassava flour
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix together tahini, maple sugar and vanilla extract using a large spoon. Then add egg and mix again until well combined.
- Then add cassava flour, ground ginger, baking soda, salt and Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts then mix to combined.
- Use a cookie scoop to scoop out around 2 tablespoons of dough and make into a round ball. Place parchment paper lined baking sheet. This dough will create 15 cookies. Once you’ve placed all the dough onto the baking sheet, use a fork to only slightly press down each cookie dough ball.
- Place baking sheet into the oven and bake for 10-13 minutes until browned and slightly crispy.
- Remove from oven and let cool for 5-10 minutes then move to cooling rack. Then eat up buttercup!

I’ve never tried hep hearts, but I think they would be an interesting add to a few energy ball recipes – making them protein energy balls!

i love hemp hearts! i usually like to add them into a warm paleo porridge, but i have been known to throw them in salads, smoothies, whatever else suits my fancy that day. they really give a nice earthy nuttyness to recipes.
I like to make my kids bananas slathered in peanut batter, sliced up like a little sushi roll. Occasionally, I’ll sprinkle with flax seed. This post gave me the idea to use hemp seeds instead. Cool – thanks!
I like to toss them on a salad. Looking forward to trying get some new ways, especially these cookies!
I would use them on yogurt parfaits and in my baked goods. Im always adding different nuts and seeds for the added crunch and calories.
I love these little jewels. I put them on top of my coconut icecream with blueberries for a “healthier” desert! Also, this past pumpkin carving season i mixed them into my roasted pumpkin seed recipe, delicious!
I would add hemp hearts to my “noats”!
