I’m doing it. My very first giveaway. I’m so excited! I’ve never done one. But when the opportunity came up to spread the word about the Well Fed Cookbook by Melissa Joulwan of The Clothes Make the Girl, I couldn’t pass it up! If you haven’t seen her cookbook yet, which I’m guessing 96% of you have, you are missing out! Not only did Melissa self publish this book, but she did it incredibly well. The photography is magnificent, the recipes are different from what you’ll find in most paleo blogs, and her voice is wonderful. It’s an easy to read, easy to look at, and easy to love paleo cookbook, and there are definitely not enough of those out there…yet! The time and effort put into this cookbook shows and everyone should have it on their bookshelf OR sitting in the kitchen next to some bacon grease…like mine.

And one of the best things about this cookbook is that it is for all kinds of paleo eaters. If you are new to paleo and are looking to make something very simple, she has that. She talks about the importance of spices and easy ways to incorporate flavors into simple dishes. And if you are a paleo-pro, she has all kind of recipes and new ideas that will spark your interest. Ever heard of machacado? You have? Whatever. To me, it seems pretty fancy. But Melissa makes it so simple that a paleo-newb to a paleo-pro could enjoy every last bite of every recipe she has.

The Well Fed Cookbook brings the spirit of every culture into paleo cooking, and that is not something you find every day.

If there is one thing I love the most about this book, it’s that the author. Melissa is an incredibly good person. She is kind, caring, and incredibly thoughtful. When I emailed her asking a question about how she got started on the publishing train, she emailed me back within minutes. She cares for everyone and that’s a pretty amazing quality to have. I believe good things happen to good people and I hope that GREAT things happen to her.

But anyways, enough with the gushy stuff. Here is how to win the cookbook:

I would LOVE to win this cookbook so that I can continue my pursuit to feel great by doing CrossFit and eating paleo. I started CrossFit last October and eating paleo in January. The 2 combined have changed my body and my life! I cook pale for a family of 4 and so it’s a bit of a challenge to bring them along with me at times. I’m always hunting for great recipes so that my family can see how eating paleo can be happy too. 🙂

Since moving bak to my home town, I’ve been slowly teaching my family about the paleo lifestyle. Not just the how, but the why as well. They see the value in simplicity. They understand that less is more. My dad and I have always cooked together, and now we spend time planning meals and searching for ideas for great paleo meals. My little brother has never liked anything fruit or vegetable. Now he cleans his plate. It’s amazing to see! This book would start a collection for the new chapter in our lives as a family.

This cook book would be great for me because I am always looking for new meals and ideas to make for all meals. I work full time and go to law school part time. I leave my house at 7 am and usually don’t return until 11pm. My meals have to be planned for the entire day. This cook book would help me plan my days better and give me better choices. Also being new to paleo I still struggle with keeping on track. I know this book would help give me motivation to stay on track.

I’ve been Paleo for a few months now and I’m [SECRETLY] trying to get my parents into it. They’re old school, and 100% Italian and anytime I make them try something they like it. BUT there is no way in hell they’re going to give up their pasta and bread and cheese. Everyday they try what I make but are still very stubborn. The book could help broaden their horizons!

I’d love to win because I know that every recipe in there is whole 30 approved, save for one dessert. I need new ideas! 🙂

I follow both of you awesome ladies on my news reader and always interesting in hearing about your life stories intertwined with awesome eats! 🙂
My BF and I have been transitioning into the paleo lifestyle and seeing as the only thing I’ve really ever cooked for myself is pasta, I’ve started to rely on your recipe sites for inspiration! 🙂

I was avid and strict about eating paleo a year ago and went to a 6 month hiatus becuase I just got lazy. I’m getting back into serious half ironman training and am trying to get back into the swing of paleo but I’m bored with my same old recipes. I love your recipes and hope the cookbook will help out as well!
