I’m doing it. My very first giveaway. I’m so excited! I’ve never done one. But when the opportunity came up to spread the word about the Well Fed Cookbook by Melissa Joulwan of The Clothes Make the Girl, I couldn’t pass it up! If you haven’t seen her cookbook yet, which I’m guessing 96% of you have, you are missing out! Not only did Melissa self publish this book, but she did it incredibly well. The photography is magnificent, the recipes are different from what you’ll find in most paleo blogs, and her voice is wonderful. It’s an easy to read, easy to look at, and easy to love paleo cookbook, and there are definitely not enough of those out there…yet! The time and effort put into this cookbook shows and everyone should have it on their bookshelf OR sitting in the kitchen next to some bacon grease…like mine.
And one of the best things about this cookbook is that it is for all kinds of paleo eaters. If you are new to paleo and are looking to make something very simple, she has that. She talks about the importance of spices and easy ways to incorporate flavors into simple dishes. And if you are a paleo-pro, she has all kind of recipes and new ideas that will spark your interest. Ever heard of machacado? You have? Whatever. To me, it seems pretty fancy. But Melissa makes it so simple that a paleo-newb to a paleo-pro could enjoy every last bite of every recipe she has.
The Well Fed Cookbook brings the spirit of every culture into paleo cooking, and that is not something you find every day.
If there is one thing I love the most about this book, it’s that the author. Melissa is an incredibly good person. She is kind, caring, and incredibly thoughtful. When I emailed her asking a question about how she got started on the publishing train, she emailed me back within minutes. She cares for everyone and that’s a pretty amazing quality to have. I believe good things happen to good people and I hope that GREAT things happen to her.
But anyways, enough with the gushy stuff. Here is how to win the cookbook:

i’ve been hearing such great things about the content of this book, and i’m definitely trying to clean up my diet and get closer to paleo now that i’ve been cross-fitting for a few months. would love to win!!
OMG! I would love love love love to have this cookbook. I love Clothes Make the Girl, it’s one of my favorite blogs (besides PaleOMG, of course). I have thyroid issues too and it’s so nice to read about other people’s situations and what they’re doing to heal themselves. And her food looks AMAZING.
I have loved her site forever now. For me, this cookbook would serve as an anchor. I was doing quite well on a stricter form of Paleo up until last month when, due to a trip, living with other non-paleo people, and being tired of eating bland food, I resorted to eating more things I shouldn’t be eating (like an abundance nuts, fruit, too many starches, too much chocolate, alcohol etc…). Consequently, I’m losing a lot of the progress I made and some of my health problems are coming back. ): I do use the recipes on her web site, Yet, I feel that having a physical cookbook in the kitchen would encourage me to keep up my healthy cooking habits. I’m just a tactile person in general and like to see/touch/hold things. The computer can’t always fulfill that need.
Whoa, that was way too long and way too serious. Honestly, I really need to get rid of my bloated stomach so I can belly-dance in public again! haha
Would LOVE to win this. I’m a new CrossFit-ter and a new Paleo eater. I’m about a month in and always in need of good meal recipes.
I would love to win this cookbook because the recipes sound great and I love cookbooks that have pictures so you can have an idea of how the finished product should look!
I’d love this cookbook! I’ve been paleo for almost 6 months and am trying to feed my whole family this way – its hard to stay creative and keep them excited about it, so this cookbook would be awesome to have! Thanks! (I don’t tweet… so, you know)
I downloaded Mel’s thirty page sampler from the book a while back and loved it! It has such a cool aesthetic and definitely helped with meal planning.
I would love to win a copy of the cookbook! I just started on the Paleo diet and am constantly looking for new and different recipes to keep things fresh. Many of your recipes are on my Paleo Pinterest board! 🙂
Have already liked TheClothesMaketheGirl on fb. I mean whats not to like, right?? On day 27 of Whole 30 and feel so F’ing good I cant stand it> Oh, and it really isnt “hard” I’m a hospice nurse-I see hard everyday.. and choosing to eat good wholesome food is NOT HARD, just like Melissa and Dallas say!! Would love to have the cookbook in my hands to help create more and more fabulous food!! Have tried and failed x 2 on the homemade mayo-but have a couple of great salad drsgs now! LOL
Hello, I’ve been training hard & eating Paleo since March 19th (thanks to my MMA friend), so far I’ve lost 35 lbs. & I feel awesome! I’m aiming to cut down another 25 lbs. so I can be in tip top shape to compete in Cycling & Cyclocross races by this fall. Recently I was referred to paleoomg.com & theclothesmakethegirl.com by one of my friends when I said that I’m looking for more recipes so I don’t get bored (btw <3 your site & the delicious eats, really I'm not sucking up). Paleo isn't a diet for me, it's a lifestyle change that I'm sticking to. I know the Well Fed cookbook will make my wildest Paleo kitchen dreams come true so please please make that happen!
