I’m doing it. My very first giveaway. I’m so excited! I’ve never done one. But when the opportunity came up to spread the word about the Well Fed Cookbook by Melissa Joulwan of The Clothes Make the Girl, I couldn’t pass it up! If you haven’t seen her cookbook yet, which I’m guessing 96% of you have, you are missing out! Not only did Melissa self publish this book, but she did it incredibly well. The photography is magnificent, the recipes are different from what you’ll find in most paleo blogs, and her voice is wonderful. It’s an easy to read, easy to look at, and easy to love paleo cookbook, and there are definitely not enough of those out there…yet! The time and effort put into this cookbook shows and everyone should have it on their bookshelf OR sitting in the kitchen next to some bacon grease…like mine.

And one of the best things about this cookbook is that it is for all kinds of paleo eaters. If you are new to paleo and are looking to make something very simple, she has that. She talks about the importance of spices and easy ways to incorporate flavors into simple dishes. And if you are a paleo-pro, she has all kind of recipes and new ideas that will spark your interest. Ever heard of machacado? You have? Whatever. To me, it seems pretty fancy. But Melissa makes it so simple that a paleo-newb to a paleo-pro could enjoy every last bite of every recipe she has.

The Well Fed Cookbook brings the spirit of every culture into paleo cooking, and that is not something you find every day.

If there is one thing I love the most about this book, it’s that the author. Melissa is an incredibly good person. She is kind, caring, and incredibly thoughtful. When I emailed her asking a question about how she got started on the publishing train, she emailed me back within minutes. She cares for everyone and that’s a pretty amazing quality to have. I believe good things happen to good people and I hope that GREAT things happen to her.

But anyways, enough with the gushy stuff. Here is how to win the cookbook:

I have been dairy free and gluten free for a couple years now due to food allergies. Recently,my husband was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. Now that he’s actually sleeping with the assistance of his c-pap machine, his doctor suggest he eat like he’s living the jungle (aka paleo) to lose some weight and getting healthier. So I am gathering all the paleo recipes I already knows like and looking for more. We decided we’d start with focused earnest on September 1st, so this book would be a fabulous resource for me as I work to plan meals around school, work, and late evening soccer practice. Thanks for doing this giveaway and considering me!!

My sister has this cookbook and she let me borrow it once and I fell in love with the recipes and the delicious simplicity of them. Unfortunately I only got to try a couple recipes before my sister moved away and took the book with her. Now that I’ve been teased and I’d love a copy of my own. It would also be give my sister and I something to bond over and that would be neat.

Pick me! Pick me! I’m on a crazy restricted diet while nursing my son who’s got wicked food allergies. Paleo was the only thing that worked for me and I’ve never felt better! Still getting into the paleo groove and would love to have this book.
Very happy to have found your blog. Your sarcasm reminds me of myself and I can always count on your posts for a good laugh and a great meal!

I would love this book because I am doing the Whole30 & living completely Paleo due to tons of food allergies & thyroid & adrenal issues! I’ve tried some of your posted recipes & hers & they make eating right worthwhile instead of feeling like a rabbit when everyone around you is eating whatever the hell they want. Plus I can eat tasty food without feeling like crap after eating, which is amazing. Please keep the delicious recipes coming!

I would love to win the cookbook. Cooking is a great passion of mine. I started following the paleo lifestyle in February, a month before also starting crossfit. Since I started eating so much better, I’ve lost 20 pounds and noticed improvement in all my chronic pains. My family eats what I cook, so I am always looking for new and interesting meals for us to enjoy.
