I’m doing it. My very first giveaway. I’m so excited! I’ve never done one. But when the opportunity came up to spread the word about the Well Fed Cookbook by Melissa Joulwan of The Clothes Make the Girl, I couldn’t pass it up! If you haven’t seen her cookbook yet, which I’m guessing 96% of you have, you are missing out! Not only did Melissa self publish this book, but she did it incredibly well. The photography is magnificent, the recipes are different from what you’ll find in most paleo blogs, and her voice is wonderful. It’s an easy to read, easy to look at, and easy to love paleo cookbook, and there are definitely not enough of those out there…yet! The time and effort put into this cookbook shows and everyone should have it on their bookshelf OR sitting in the kitchen next to some bacon grease…like mine.

And one of the best things about this cookbook is that it is for all kinds of paleo eaters. If you are new to paleo and are looking to make something very simple, she has that. She talks about the importance of spices and easy ways to incorporate flavors into simple dishes. And if you are a paleo-pro, she has all kind of recipes and new ideas that will spark your interest. Ever heard of machacado? You have? Whatever. To me, it seems pretty fancy. But Melissa makes it so simple that a paleo-newb to a paleo-pro could enjoy every last bite of every recipe she has.

The Well Fed Cookbook brings the spirit of every culture into paleo cooking, and that is not something you find every day.

If there is one thing I love the most about this book, it’s that the author. Melissa is an incredibly good person. She is kind, caring, and incredibly thoughtful. When I emailed her asking a question about how she got started on the publishing train, she emailed me back within minutes. She cares for everyone and that’s a pretty amazing quality to have. I believe good things happen to good people and I hope that GREAT things happen to her.

But anyways, enough with the gushy stuff. Here is how to win the cookbook:

My hubby and I are on day 5 of eating Paleo and we really don’t know what the hell we are doing, we’re sort of winging it. I’ve lost 4 lbs. so far and he’s lost 11, so we must be doing something right. I’d love to have this book so I can figure out how to to this right.

Melissa is awesome! She is a fellow Texan who once admitted to eating bread and cheese in Europe! Oh so scandalous! Like Juli, she is real! And I mean come on, her recipes are amazing! Why would I not want her cookbook?

I’m a Type1 Diabetic, and I just finished my first 30 days of paleo eating and cut my insulin needs in half! I don’t have any paleo books yet, and this one looks amazing! I would love to win this and I hope it would come autographed! Unfortunately, my library doesn’t carry this book.

I would REALLY like to win this cookbook because I just bought “It Starts with Food” thinking that it would be in the same vein as “Clothes Make the Girl.” It is a little too science-y (and discouraging) to me and I’d really like to have a sort of um… friendlier introduction to Paleo eating. 🙂

I would love this cookbook! I’m a 42 yr old working mother of two – former marathon runner, and a relative newbie to CrossFit and Paleo (started both in Feb 2012). I love it! My husband and I are cooking paleo at home 100% of the time (except for wine…please don’t make me give up wine … I have a 3 yr old and 7 yr old!) and my next challenge is to get our kids fully transitioned to paleo too! I follow PaleOMG daily, but love my cookbooks too for meal planning!

I’ve been eyeing this book for quite some time! I started living the paleo lifestyle as part of a challenge with my roommates. The challenge ended a number of months ago but I couldn’t give up the lifestyle after all of the changes I’ve noticed… primarily less fatigue and bloating! I’m not a natural-born cook but I know the recipes in this book will inspire me!

I would love to win this cookbook! I’ve been wanting to try eating Paleo but have no idea where to start. I need a treasure trove of recipes to get me going.

I struggle with cooking Paleo as I am trying to feed and teach a 17 and 14 year old along with a picky husband. I mostly don’t succeed and they miss my yummy southern unhealthy cooking. PLEASE give me good yummy reviews so I can prove to them that healthy can mean yummy! Love you Juli!!!

      Recipes! Not reviews! Darn autocorrect!
