Dealing with breakouts has become part of my identity at this point, especially now that I’m off birth control and they have a mind of their own. I eat incredibly clean, I stay away from sugar as much as possible, I rarely drink alcohol, but the breakouts still come. And everyone has some sort of solution for me in an email or message. But for me, there is no one solution. It takes trying new things, giving new products a go, and experimenting with new brands if a favorite one doesn’t have an acne line. Well luckily I don’t have to do that at the moment since Tula just recently came out with their Acne Fighting Routine! Tula has had their Acne Clearing & Tone Correcting Gel on the market for a while, but they just recently added a Acne Foam Cleanser and Acne Spot Treatment spot treatment to the collection and I could not be more excited!
Today I wanted to share some details about the new collection in case you’re like me, an adult dealing with acne still. But if you’re a teenager, even better. Let’s get this acne under control ASAP to help you out early! But also, if you’re a teenager, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE? I must be boring the hell out of you. Back to the point:
Step 1: Acne Foam Cleanser – This brand new cleanser is free from alcohol, parabens, phalates, mineral oil, silicone, and sodium lauryl sulfate and it’s great for dry, oily, combination, mature AND acne-prone skin. And like all Tula’s products, it’s cruelty-free!
In this cleanser, you’ll find:
- Salicylic Acid which treats and prevents acne
- Licorice & Azelaic Acid to help brighten the look of marks left by past blemishes
- Probiotics & Tea Tree Oil to help calm the look of redness & inflammation
- Ginger which helps soothe the skin
This cleanser uses the highest percentage of salicylic acid available without a prescription to help fight acne. The licorice and azelaic acid help improve the look of skin tone and texture, probiotics calms the look of inflammation, and the ginger leaves your complexion smooth and glowing.
Step 2: Acne Clearing & Tone Correcting Gel – Just like the cleanser, this gel is free from alcohol, fragrance, parabens, phalates, mineral oil, and sodium laurel sulfate.
In this gel, you’ll find:
- Salicylic Acid which fights and prevents acne
- Azelaic Acid & Niacinamide to help brighten the appearance of marks left by past blemishes
- Probiotics, Willowherb & Hyaluronic Acid to help hydrate and soothe the skin
I’ve been using this get for a while now since it’s been out for over a year, and I love it! It hydrates, locks in moisture, treats and prevents acne, but most of all, it helps deal with the dark spots that acne leaves behind to remind you that you’re an adult with adult acne. Thanks acne, ya pal. And unlike most acne gels on the market, this one won’t leave you dry and flaky thanks to the probiotics, hyaluronic acid, willowherb!
Step 3: Acne Spot Treatment – You guessed it, this product is free of alcohol, parabens, phalates, mineral oil, silicone, and sodium lauryl sulfate.
In the spot treatment, you’ll find:
- Benzoyl Peroxide which is an FDA-approved ingredient to help fight and prevent acne
- Probiotics & Tea Tree Oil to help calm the look of redness & inflammation
- Licorice & Niacinamide to help fade marks left from past blemishes
Tula did a self-assessment with 30 subjects for 7 days and found that:
- After one week, 90% of spot treatment users saw some of their pimples go away
- After 24 hours, 73% saw some pimples disappear
This gels helps clear up acne fast and prevents future breakouts with FDA-approved benzoyl peroxide. And just like the other products, it calms the appearance of redness and irritation with the other ingredients. It also won’t leave irritated spots from using the product.
Acne products have always been so harsh and frustrating. What’s the point in working on your acne with the help of a product if it dries out your skin and leaves your with irritation and peeling? It’s like you’re trading one evil for another! Tula doesn’t want you to feel like you have to do that. Since their products are created with probiotics, they are always gentle on the skin, leaving your skin hydrated and supple! That way you can wear makeup on top of these products without any issue! I’ve been using them religiously for over 2 weeks now and have seen improvement! Hope you experience the same!! Acne is a real b*tch, but Tula is here to make sure you have the tools to get it under control!

Juli, have you tried any products with Bakuchiol since you stopped using retinoids? I still use retinoids to help my acne and recently heard about Bakuchiol. I think it is in the new beauty counter kit for anti aging. Not sure if it is worth the money to try it or not! Would love your opinion. I aways have pimples no matter what even at 30 but retinoids and benzoyl peroxide wash seem to be the biggest help for me.
i’ve never heard of it! i tried the countertime line though and immediately broke out so it doesn’t seem like that line is great for acne prone skin, in my experience
Omg I just got the spot treatment tube and I LOVE IT SO MUCH! I have been fighting a huge irritate cluster of acne on my chin and it’s gone. Not GONE, but it’s down to dark spots and a scab. I’ve used it for maybe 3 days. Woot!
wooooohooooo!! that’s so cool to hear!!
