Fudge you guys. My third cookbook is almost due! I’m so damn excited for it!!! No seriously. I get sweaty palms just thinking about it. Imagine what I’m like on book tour. I sweat everywhere. Anyone I met on my last book tour knows I’m a clam mess. Gross.
There’s a guy in front of me at the coffee shop, chewing on a cigar. Or what I believe is a cigar. It’s that or a stick of poo. So I’m going with a cigar so I can finish my paleo muffin. Is chewing on a cigar normal behavior? He also has a multi-colored pen that he is using continuously to write in his book, along with a hairbrush and 2 packs of gum sitting on the table. No coffee. No afternoon treat. Just a spit-lathened cigar and a hair brush. Interesting human. Especially since he doesn’t have enough hair to need a hairbrush RIGHT NOW. Maybe morning, but not right now. No sir. Sh*t, he knows I’m talking about him. Abort, ABORT.
Damnit, he’s spitting into a cup now. This people watching is just too easy at this point. Must. Peel. Eyes. Away.
You know what I can’t seem to peel my eyes away from? 50 Shades of Grey. The book. Not the movie. I’m only planning on seeing the rated X movie. Screw the theatre version! No pun intended. Haha, I’m clever. But seriously, I LOVE this book. Sure, a crazy sex story is all fun, but the love story is the best part. It’s like Twilight all over again. Oh and stop hating me for liking Twilight, you angry fool. I’m just a sucker for love stories. But while I’m reading this book, I do wonder how the author has thought up some of these situations. I’ve had to research what some of the words even are in this book. Like, did she go to sex stores and just say “Hey, that looks fun. I’ll write about that!” or did she interview people or did she just do the research herself? I would really like to know. I guess that’s what google is for, but shut up, I’m reading.
Also something I need to look up on google: fleek. What the hell does that word mean? I read it in a group text the other day and should have just asked right then, but that would just be embarrassing. I’m trying to stay hip with the times and fleek seems very hip. Please tell me.
Ok, last topic. I’m so pumped. My gym, CrossFit Broadway, just rented out a space above our gym to do more boot camp style workouts. Since not everyone loves CrossFit and some people aren’t a fan of lifting weights all the time, we wanted to spice it up a little bit with a different style. And I am personally SUPER EXCITED. As I do CrossFit over the years and keep re-figuring out what works for my body, I am in a time that I like to stick more with lighter workouts. By no means do I want to stop lifting weights, but I do love to do lighter and faster workouts sometimes. Meaning most of the time. This is so exciting. If you live in Colorado, you have to check it out. Exercise is the best.
AHHHHHHH!!! The guy just peeled something off of his face and wiped it on his book. This is the worst day ever.

Fleek means on point! It’s a good thing. 🙂 I teach music at a public school and I knew I made it when my students told me my outfit was on fleek one day!
Want a book that will consume your life (in a good way) with great romance AND sex appeal? Outlander. Can’t get enough! Okay there are like 6 books and I’m only on book 3 but for reals. Check.it.out. Or watch the first season on Showtime. Or don’t. #Books
holy shart! totally in.
Do it! Love the Outlander books – I’ve read the series five times at least. But I can’t bring myself to watch the show: how could it ever be as good?
Oh man I’ve heard Outlander is amazing! Have you watched the show? Or just read the books? I am terrible about making time to read….
Also, do you watch Game of Thrones? Because you should. I’ve heard if you like GoT you will like Outlander, and vice versa. Also, there’s dragons. ‘Nuff said.
AHHHH! You put a chicken recipe right after that description? You couldn’t even cushion it with rainbows or puppies or something?
nitty gritty
Kinda like that time you were using “totes” all the time and I had to google that.
ha!!!
no clue!!!
Love your last cookbook so definitely excited for this one too! Just bought chicken and want to try this out for sure. You brought back memories of my 50 shades obsession I think 3 years ago? I had to tear myself away.
This may be the best blog post yet! I died laughing! I’m very happy you are pro twilight! Always need a simple chicken recipe, thanks! And FYI I made your cinnamon rolls from The Paleo Kitchen and my family requests them daily now. Last time I used Paleo Nutella for the filling and it was amazing!
I found 50 Shades exhausting… I mean how many times a day can that girl climax? It was a little annoying after awhile…or maybe I am jealous? 😉
Also, have you tried OTF (Orange Theory Fitness)? I am loving it. The one in highlands is ok but the one on Bellview is the bomb. More cardio focus and longer workouts…
Oh and congrats on making Paleo Mag’s awards list…saw you a couple times
The love story of 50 Shades is the best part!! Everyone I have talked to says it is just women porn in book form and I say no way! Here is a legit amazing love story in here!
