If you’re an OG PaleOMG follower, you know I’m obsessed with all things skincare. I was not blessed with great skin nor was I blessed with the understanding of how to nourish my body correctly in order to care for my skin from an early age. And because of that, I have become quite curious with all things skincare in hopes of finding all the best ways to properly care for my skin as I age. I’ve eaten dairy-free, paleo, tried the bean protocol (and still stick with it!) I went to an esthetician regularly for extractions, I took tons of prescriptions like accutane and spironolactone, I did oil pulling, I took cod liver oil, I used all the organic hippy products I could find, I did Hydrofacials, Profractional, Halo laser, BBL, microneedling, Clear Silk, chemical peels, and I’ve tried a ton of different skincare products along the way. I’ve spent anywhere from five dollars to hundreds of dollars on a single product just to see what would work for me. And I continue to try new things each year because I think my skin is worth it. This is the one body I will have while I’m here on earth so I’m damn sure going to try to care for it any way I can. Our bodies are miraculous and they work damn hard to care for us daily, so why shouldn’t we do the same? We work out, we eat well, we wear sunscreen (you sure as hell should be wearing sunscreen), we drink water…now what about your skin? Are you putting just as much effort into your skin? If not, that’s cool, but in the meantime I’m here to be the test dummy for you in case you’re ever interested!

PaleOMG My Favorite LED Face Mask

Now I’ve seen the Dr. Dennis Gross LED FaceWare Pro a few times on a friend’s instagram. This friend has stunning skin so I’m not sure why I didn’t buy it immediately back then. IDIOT. But luckily I ran into a friend recently and she was with her mother-in-law. Well this MIL was an absolute MILF. I literally thought it was my friend’s sister. So when I asked my friend what her MIL did to care for her skin since she looked like she just go out of high school, she told me that she used the Dr. Dennis Gross LED FaceWare Pro. So you know what I did? I purchased it online and picked it up that same day. I’m extremely impulsive, especially when it comes to my skin. I’ve known about red and blue LED lights for quite a while now. When I was struggling with acne a little over a year ago, I even bought one that my esthetician had. Problem was, I had to lie on my back with it over my face for 30 minutes. And that felt like a real commitment (I should try it now since I’m meditating these days, that actually sounds quite lovely). So when I read that you only had to wear this LED mask for 3 freaking minutes, I was SOLD.

If you’re new to LED lights, let me give you the easy breakdown.

  • LED lights penetrate the skin at different depths to trigger and stimulate processes in the body that can help with things like acne, dermatitis, dull skin, scarring, wrinkles, age spots, sun damage, and other inflammatory skin conditions like rosacea and eczema.
  • Red LED Light stimulates collagen production deep within skin to help improve signs of aging
  • Blue LED Light destroys acne causing bacteria to help keep the skin a bit clearer

I’m not a huge believer in solving acne issues with skincare technology, I personally believe acne needs to be worked on from within (see my bean protocol post), but it never hurts to kill any bacteria that may be on the surface of the skin. I prefer to use the LED FaceWare Pro for aging. I want to work on fine lines, wrinkles, and discoloration the most. And since you only need to use it 3 minutes a day, plus it’s hands-free, it’s quite easy to use it a couple times a day, morning and night!

Using it is very simple! All you do is wash your skin, pat it dry, then put the mask over your face and tighten the straps. My only complaint with this device are the straps. They slip really easily so they don’t always tighten as much as you would like them to. Once it’s secure on your face, you hold down the power button on the forehead of the mask and it will turn red for anti-aging, click it again for blue for acne, or click it a third time for a combination. Then go about your day and 3 minutes later, you’ll be done! It’s that simple. After I use it in the mornings, I use Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Extra Strength Daily Peel Pads. When I bought the LED FaceWare Pro, I got a free sample of the peel pads and I quickly fell in love with them. They are such a simple way to care for your skin at home without having to deal with dryness or actual peeling. So every morning, I wash, I mask, I peel, I put on the rest of my skincare products, I meditate, and then I journal. Talk about self care at its finest! The peel pads have AHA’s and BHA’s, antioxidants, and retinol to help with cell turnover while removing any dullness. They help your skin look more even toned and bright! Then I do the same skincare thing at night, but without the peels pads and I use a sheet mask instead! And after every use of the mask, I clean it down with an alcohol wipe to ensure I’m not swapping out any bacteria on my skin with each use. No thank you.

This really feels like an ad for Dr Dennis Gross, doesn’t it? I guess it’s safe to say I’m a fan of their products.

I’ve had the mask for over a month now and I’ve used it every single day along with the peel pads. I didn’t take any before photos because I don’t really care with this one. This is about long game results. It’s not about seeing results in a few days or weeks, I’m thinking months and years. Just like working out or eating healthy. I see it as an extremely easy way to care for your skin on a daily basis since we can’t go see an esthetician daily. I’ve even packed it with me while traveling (I have it with me in Austin right now)! It’s simple, easy, and quick! It’s definitely higher priced at $435, but if you’re dedicated to using it daily, you’ll get your money’s worth real damn fast. And I definitely recommend being dedicated to it. I heard somewhere to use it 45 days in a row to see true results, but I’m going to stick with it far longer than that! If it can help my skin even in the slightest bit, I’m here for it, especially since it’s so convenient! I would highly recommend trying this one out! I’m no expert, but I definitely take my skin very seriously so if you have any questions, let me know!!
