The holidays are coming. I’ve been talking about them almost every day on the blog because I cannot believe that it’s already almost Thanksgiving. Which means Christmas is just around the corner. And let’s be realistic, the holidays can be challenging. We’ve been working hard throughout the year – working out, making better choices with our food – and then…the holidays come. And cookies show up, then cocktails, then chocolates, then barrels of popcorn, plus all the travel and disrupt to our normal schedules. It messes with not only our diet and workouts, but our behaviors and daily choices.

But the holidays don’t have to hinder your progress. You can still enjoy the holidays and keep with your goals if you just plan ahead. Plan some of your meals, plan some of your snacks, and plans your workouts. Are you going to the middle of nowhere where there isn’t even a small gym in town? Not a problem – you got this!
Every Monday on the blog, I share a free workout you can do while traveling. And with the help of lululemon cold weather layers plus my travel workouts, you have no excuse not to workout while you’re gone for the holidays! These reflective deep green leggings keep you warm while keeping you insight no matter what time of day you are running!
More of My Favorite Leggings:
There are so many different movements you can do with only your bodyweight and no gym equipment. When we headed to the mountain the other day to get some photos, I decided to do a quick workout right by the beautiful lake! So I bundled up in my fitted jacket and headed out for a quick run to start my workout!
This jacket is lightweight, comes in a slim fit and has reflective details if you’re running at any point after 4pm nowadays. So you’re still able to move while you’re wearing it but can easily zip it off if you warm up at any point through your workout!
But my favorite part of this outfit is BY FAR this magenta long sleeve top. I have many of these long sleeve tops because they are so incredibly warm and perfect through winter, and they absolutely never go out of style! I wear this top at the gym, while running errands or walking the dog. It’s so warm but it’s breathable at the same time! So layering up with this top and the lightweight jacket was perfect for the first part of my workout before I started sweating my butt off!

Hi Juli! Love these workout ideas! We are flying into Denver on our way to our Thanksgiving vacation. What are your favorite casual (we have two young kids) paleo friendly restaurants in Denver? Thanks in advance!
I have no idea when it comes to good restaurants for children, but here is a list of my favorites in Denver: https://paleomg.com/eating-gluten-free-staying-active-in-myrtle-beach/
What is your favorite v neck tee brand? I’m looking for one that’s not super tight in grey and white.
this brand is awesome! i have this top in multiple colors and it’s super flowy! http://rstyle.me/n/b5x7b5bq557
I love the shoes. What kind are they and how good are they for running?
too athletic! http://topoathletic.com
Tara, I bought these shoes after seeing them on Juli’s blog awhile back! Horrible for long distance running, but really awesome for everything else in the gym. I wear them all the time!
Hey Juli – I have been following your blog for a few years now, and have loved how it has evolved. I am an avid cross fitter, who like you, has taken a step back from competitions and am just working on personal fitness goals. I am travelling a ton with work, and your workouts have been awesome to keep me on track while I’m away. When you’re travelling, do you usually just make up workouts on the spot, or do you have a couple favourite sites you use for inspiration?
i just make them up on the spot!
We’re (supposedly) almost in summer here in the southern hemisphere but I know want one of those jackets! We’re thankfully not heading away for the holidays this year and I’m hoping to use the time to kickstart my workout regime again. I’ve slacked off lately thanks to work and study, but the study is almost done and I’m having a two week break from work over the holiday season. Thanks for the inspiration 🙂
Wow, its awesome Lulu sponsored this! They’ve always teetered the line with crossfitters! I wish they’d sponsor more.
youtube will always have the answer if you are unsure! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfnMuP5JgIw
Juli – amazing job on getting sponsored by Lulu!! You are an amazing person and extremely motivational! Congrats! Nothing but love for you here in Canada 🙂
Juli – loving your podcasts. I travel a lot for work so am very interested to hear your thoughts on making good food choices on the road. I try to prep and bring food with me as much as possible but that isn’t always feasible.
If I’m purchasing workout gear due to your recommendation, how do I let the company know that? I’m thinking of a general Zella purchase rather than a specific item you referenced & gave a link to in lmthe blog. Apologies if there is a code somewhere that I missed. Thanks!
no need to do that! just glad i could help!
You got Lulu to sponsor you? GIRL. You rock.
