I have a sweating issue. No, not a problem, an ISSUE. Whenever I’m in the gym, I start sweating. I don’t know if it’s my body getting excited/nervous/anxious for a workout or the people I’m coaching through a workout, but it’s quite an annoyance either way. Especially since I work in a gym. Every day. I literally can’t wear shirts with sleeves. And don’t even get me started about trying to wear white shirts. Bleach bears no strength next to my saturated pits. OMG, I almost just gagged at that last sentence.
Anywho, I’ve been sweating an extra gallon a week lately since I’ve been participating in the Beat the Team Series competition through Again Faster. This little 8 week long online competition is a video submission contest for a sponsorship on Again Faster’s team. Super cool. But nerve racking. Videoing myself, half naked, cellulite for the whole world to see just makes me a bit uncomfortable. But whatever. I get to compete with Jason Kelly from CrossFit Broadway, who is my training partner and just an overall complete badass. He’s excited to show off his manly chest hair and extremely tan skin in the videos. Mmmm hmmm, he told me so.
Speaking of sweaty things, do ribs get you hot and bothered. They sure do for me. These ribs were delicious and stupid easy. God I love the crockpot. Genius idea.
BTW, you can call me puddles if you’d like. I’m cool with that.
Paleo Caribbean Jerk Crockpot Beef Ribs
- Yield: 4-5 1x
Ingredients
- 2–3lbs beef back ribs
- 1 yellow onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup beef or chicken broth (or water!)
- 1 tablespoon coriander
- 1 tablespoon ginger
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 2 teaspoons salt and pepper
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice
Instructions
- This is simple. I’m trusting you to not eff this up. If you do, you fail at life. Not even kidding.
- Put ribs and chopped onions in crockpot.
- Add broth or water.
- Mix spices together and add directly to the crockpot, being sure to coat the ribs.
- Put crockpot on low and cook for 6-8 hours.
- Eat. Be careful pulling the ribs out of the crockpot, the meat comes off the bone pretty easily!
Recipe looks awesome, but totally unrelated- where do you get your thick workout headbands from? I've been on the hunt for some and can't find any!

Hi Juli,
Just wanted you to know that I made this with boneless ribs and OMG they were the BOMB!! Thanks for all of your recipes! SO LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR COOKBOOK!! :o)
Yummmmm! I wish I had a freaking cookbook!
Awesome recipe! I tried a couple of different things… I marinated the ribs over night in Walkerswood traditional jerk seasoning. I would highly recommend this, as it turned out awesome, but both ways are great. Also, I used my pressure cooker instead of crock pot but the only difference this makes is the cooking time is faster. Anyways, cool blog, I just stumbled upon this for this recipe!
I’ve never used a pressure cooker before so thank you so much for posting this comment!
Just finished dinner and these ribs were so awesome. I did a slight adjustment by adding almost enough chicken broth to cover the meat. I served the ribs with sweet potato fries coated with coconut oil and ghee and dusted with the spice mixture from the rib recipe. Sooooo delicious. Thanks for the recipe.
I’m making this tomorrow 🙂
On a side note though.. (and if I’m late to the party I apologize). Try Certain Dri, spelled just like that. It’s a roll-on and it’s an anti-perspirant ONLY so you’ll need a deoderant too. Anyway, you can use it once a day for a month or so and eventually you don’t have to use it but once a week or so. Just follow the directions. LET IT DRY before putting on clothes! DON’T use on freshly shaved pits… um I kinda didn’t listen to that and 5 years later I remember how bad it was. I find mine at Walgreens. It looks like a generic deoderant box (it comes in a box)… white with black writing. I swear by it though. Um, I might even use it under my boobs sometimes although it says not to. I have a sweat issue too. THANKS DAD!
These were Absolutely Amazing!!! My whole house smelled great and they were delicious. Thanks you for posting this recipe.
