I finally saw the third Hunger Games movie, part 1. Then I instantly remembered why I stopped reading the third book. It’s soooo slow at the beginning. All she does is say “NO, I WON’T BE THE MOCKINGJAY!” “FINE, I’LL BE THE MOCKINGJAY!” “NO, I CAN’T BE THE MOCKINGJAY”. It’s this continuous circle that never ends. I get it, she’s distraught. I would be too. But I have sh*t to do in my life, so you need to make up your mind or I’m giving up on this book. Oh wait, I did give up on the book. So I was super pumped to see the movie and see what happens. Hot damn was it slow at the beginning. But then it got good. And I really dug it. Jennifer Lawrence is just so great.
When I see Chia Pet commercials, I sometimes think about growing greenery in my stomach when I eat chia seeds. You too? No? Cool.
Can you believe how fast the holidays are coming up? It’s insane. I haven’t bought anything for anyone. F*ck. I’m just now thinking about that. Malls are just the worst places ever. And planning thoughtful things ahead of time ain’t my thing. I wish I was more thoughtful, but I’m just not. Maybe a good New Years resolution this year? For sure. I just can’t believe it’s almost Christmas. What made it really set in is having our annual CrossFit Broadway christmas party this past weekend. Gym Christmas parties are seriously the best. Because you only ever see people in workout clothes….and sober. So when you get well dressed, pretty healthy people all liquored up, some true colors are shown. And those true colors are really fun to watch.
Sadly, the first two years I went to the Christmas party, I blacked out so my true, unfortunate colors were shown. Last years party was short lived since we had another party that night. But this year was perfect. Since I’m a terrible drinker, I had 2 gin and tonics and was ready to get my dance on and watch people creep on each other. Not too drunk, just enough alcohol to promote me to flail my arms in any desired manner. In the end, my control with alcohol kept me happily satisfied the next day when I didn’t wake up completely miserable. No wait, I kind of did. But that was because of my Thursday, Friday and Saturday workouts. I’m seriously still sore today after resting two days. What gives. Anywho, the Christmas party was a success. I have my fingers crossed that a few love connections were made. Guess they were more of a one night sort of love connection, but I’m happy for them.

Ohmygod. Why did I not think of making a gingerbread shake!! It seems so obvious considering I am 10000% obsessed with gingerbread everything….Currently have banana gingerbread in the oven for a blog post.
Where is the nutritional information?
And how many calories are in that albeit amazing looking smoothie?
i don’t post nutritional information. but you can put the ingredients into a calorie calculator if you are interested in that
I will never be able to eat chia seeds and not think of that ever again. I can’t unsee that sentence.
🙂
Just made this and I loved it and so did my 12 year old son!!
This such a great preggo shake, nutritionally and tastily!! Molasses are especially great for preggos 🙂 with their iron content. And since I’ve been having a meat aversion this entire pregnancy (sooo weird for a meat lover like me!) This is exactly what I needed for my protein boost! Thanks!
That is soooooo good. Maybe it has a bit much sugar than I’d like but it tastes really good.
This is amazing! I love your recipes! Seriously I think I’ve loved everyone I’ve made and I’m a foodie ;)!
I just made this with cold coffee & a little cream instead of the almond milk and
DUDE.
It was SO GOOD.
Digging in the archives paid off. 🙂
Has anyone tried this recipe with either dates, honey, or maple syrup as the sweetener? I don’t have blackstrap molasis and I’m trying to not buy too many extra ingredients in my tiny apartment. I’m sure the blackstrap molasis is what makes it taste like gingerbread though…
I’m going to try it with two pitted dates instead of the molasis and use 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract and PaleoPro Naked powder instead of the vanilla Primal Fuel. I’ll let you know how it goes!!! Thanks for the recipe!
So I’ve made those alterations (2 dates, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, and a scoop of PaleoPro naked powder) and it turned out AMAZING!
