What…in the f*ck…is Kanye talking about on Ellen? Did you guys see all that? What the hell is going on? Does HE even know what’s going on? He talks all about how he wants to change the world but he can’t make a full paragraph make any sense. It was like he just kept pulling words out of his bum hole and threw them up, but none of those words were organized in any sort of order. But he’s an “artist” so it somehow makes sense. But it doesn’t. Kind of like these last few sentences.
The only thing that really stuck out to me from all the millions of words he said was when he talked about calling the head of Payless because he wants kids to stop being bullied. THEN DON’T CHARGE $800 FOR YOUR SHOES, KANYE. Ya big d*ck.
Ok, I’m sorry Kanye. Calling people names is mean. I apologize. You’re just the worst.
You know what else is the worst? Changing your name. Well, I wouldn’t know. I haven’t started the process yet. But 9 out of 10 people have told me changing their name was absolutely awful. Even my mom was married before and ended up not changing her name to my dad’s last name since she had changed it and changed it back again. So people always just think my parents are divorced since they have different last names. Nope, just lazy. Just kidding, she’s not lazy. You’re great, mom!
My friend just sent me a website that helps with the whole process and she said it made it so much easier. So I need to actually click on that link and just do it. I’ve decided to remove my middle name, put my last name as my middle name and take my husband’s last name. I love my last name, I can’t imagine losing it all together. But something that I am excited about is changing my signature. My signature is pretty much a squiggly line so now I’m going to take this name change opportunity to make it look like I give a damn when I sign documents. Let’s do this, married life!!
Summer Zucchini Basil Frittata
- Yield: 4-5 1x
Ingredients
- 3 small zucchinis, shredded
- 1 pound ground Italian sausage
- 1/2 yellow onion, minced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 12 eggs, whisked
- 8–10 basil leaves, sliced + extra for garnishing
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- salt, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
- Shred zucchinis, place between two paper towels and place a heavy dish on top to help pull out the excess liquid.
- Place a large oven safe sauté pan over medium heat. Add italian sausage, onion, and garlic clove to pan and break sausage apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until meat is browned and no pink remains. Remove from heat. Whisk together eggs, basil, red pepper flakes and salt then pour into pan with sausage and onion. Then add in shredded zucchini that has excess water removed. Mix to combine completely then place extra basil leaves throughout pan on top of the egg mixture.
- Place in oven to bake for 25 minutes or until eggs do not jiggle in the middle of the pan. Slice and eat!

ooooh I’ll have to try this one for my hubby next – sounds delicious!
btw, on the name change – it’s really not that bad! You have to apply for a new social security card first (just by mail), then go to the dreaded driver’s license place, then mail the documents for your passport (my passport was newish, so I didn’t even have to pay extra to get a new one with a new name!), then change credit cards/bank stuff (which took me about two years to accomplish since especially credit cards are not that important to change), and then whatever you come across as time goes by 🙂 As long as you have a marriage certificate and a social security card…the rest is a breeze! The process looks way more intimidating than it actually is.
I’ve been married almost 3 years and just recently changed my name. I replaced my middle name with my maiden name since it is unique and I couldn’t imagine not having it! I had a serious struggle with changing it. Now I have weather reporters name lol. I suggested my husband take my last name but he nixed that idea 🙂 ..and yea, the changing process was a nightmare. I legit almost cried at the DMV because I had to go back 3 times . Hopefully you have a better experience!
Changing your name is the WORST! Especially if you have booked a flight in your maiden name and have to go through the ringer to change it to your new legal name to match your new documents….I just went through it (in Texas) and the legal part wasn’t so bad. It’s all the stuff after you forget your name is linked to, like credit cards and airline rewards programs. But it’s worth it in the end!!
I get married in July. I read about Hitch Switch to help you change your name, I was thinking of trying that out. Is it the same link your friend sent you? Just looking for advice! Not excited about changing my signature either, after 27 years it will be like learning to write all over again.
my friend sent me this one: http://m.missnowmrs.com/
A little late to the convo and not sure if you’ve started the process but I used this site and it was SO EASY. You fill in your info in one place and it puts it on all the documents you need and tells you what to do with them! It even prints letters to send to you insurance companies, credit cards, etc. to change your name.
I got married and changed my last name a couple years ago and it is really not that bad! I think you just have to set aside an afternoon and get it all done and then it’s over with. I think it’s one of those things that the longer you put off the worse it seems in your head. You can do it! Just wanted to provide some moral support. Haha.
The name change process really is the WORST. I don’t know why they have to make it so difficult! This link is a pretty decent checklist of what needs to be done to be sure you cover all your bases:

Changing your name is the worst! I got married in December and still haven’t gotten everything done!
I’ve been following your blog for the last three years, and “Juli Bauer’s Paleo Cookbook” is by far my favorite and most “usable” (is that a word?) cookbook and I have absolutely loved each recipe I’ve made! You’ve inspired me to stop with years obsessive calorie / macro counting and the guilt that comes along with it! To my surprise, letting go of that has allowed me to focus on strength and performance and having fun during my workouts instead of burning off my last meal, which has led to my abs looking better than ever, and most importantly feeling great mentally and living a life of balance! 🙂
RIGHT?! i wish people understood the “f*ck it” method really does work. if you just stay on track with eating healthy and working out while not stressing about numbers, your body can often thank you. at least it did for me. so glad you’re enjoying the book, i wish i could force everyone to have it because i totally think it’s my most usable one too! thanks for the comment, cait!
That Kanye rant cracked me up! I love how Ellen is just sitting there like sure… keep ranting, enjoy yourself. He wasn’t even looking at her the whole time, just staring into the crowd. He’s a loon!
I didn’t think changing my name was that bad, just make sure you do it in the right order. Oh and you’ll find things lingering in your old name for years… lol whoops!
I didn’t have a rough time changing my name. I did take a day off of work to do it, though. Woke up early and went to the DMV, then the social security office, then the bank. Don’t forget your marriage license! Then when my bills came I called as I received them. Don’t procrastinate Juli Bauer!
I took my maiden name as my middle too! It is what my mom did and I couldn’t imagine not having it. I’m giving my maiden name to my kid as a middle name too. Make sure you order a few extra copies of your marriage license since you have to submit it a bunch of times.
