YAS girl. So much of this has been normalized. And I know so many good men who just can’t get up to speed on why it is not OK because for some reason it’s threatening to them. It really is frustrating.

    1. juli says:

super frustrating. it’s amazing how much is normalized at this point. it’s time for change

  2. Shana says:

I listen to your podcast every week and while I appreciate your humor and just generally listening to you talk about what’s new in your life, this week was fantastic. I think we all need to speak up because what you were talking about happens to all of us. All. The. Time. And it’s not ok. Thanks for using your platform for stuff like this.

    1. juli says:

thank you for the kind words Shana!

  3. Carrie B says:

Thank you for speaking out on this subject. I work in law enforcement which is a male dominated field so I can relate to a lot of what you were speaking to. I so agree with one of your last statements about humanity versus political affiliation. Can you imagine how different the world would be if we were all just kind to one another? I read the best quote the other day…”You will never regret being kind to someone.”
Thanks again for being so open and honest.

    1. juli says:

thanks for the love Carrie. it would be a pretty fucking cool world if we were kind and thoughtful every single day. it’s even something i need to work on regularly myself. thank you for listening and taking the time to comment.

  4. Erin says:

Loved this episode! I listen to both Mind Pump and GGW so I was excited to hear all about the podcast fest in Tahoe. The Mind Pump social media made it look awesome- delicious food and fun podcasting… so needless to say that your experience came as a surprise. 100% appreciate your honesty on the situation. You could’ve easily just kept it to yourself, but instead you trusted your listeners and said what should have been said. I’m still in shock that those are the types of people the Mind Pump guys associate with 🙁 and so sad that a fun weekend turned into so much grossness

    1. juli says:

this is not a bash on mind pump in any capacity. what they experience with their acquaintances or friends is completely different than what other people experience, especially as males in a male dominated fitness space. even my experience was completely different than what joy and claire experienced. i know i’m getting a lot of hate for what i felt in those moments by people out there, but those were just MY experiences. i really wasn’t trying to put any hate in any capacity out towards the guys of mind pump. they were great and very welcoming!

  5. Katie says:

YES!! Thank you! I felt like I was having my own conversation with you on my drive today. That’s normal right? Anyway. Thank you for being real and being honest. I thought it was impossible to love you more than I did but I was wrong!

    1. juli says:

those are my favorite kind of podcasts, when I feel like i’m just hanging out with a friend. thanks for listening Katie!

  6. Sara says:

Thank you for speaking up and sharing your experiences!! When one person speaks up it gives others the courage to speak up too!

    1. juli says:

absolutely. and that’s all we can hope for at this point.

  7. Chelsea says:

These conversations are so important – thanks for using your platform to share.

    1. juli says:

thank you for the support Chelsea!

  8. Jac says:

Looking forward to listening to this podcast!
For an upcoming podcast, I think it would be cool for you to ask your followers to submit stories as to how your blog and you have changed their lives. Good way to spread some positivity!

    1. juli says:

i absolutely love this idea, Jac! i will definitely feel a little weird asking people to share those stories (it feels very full-of-myself style) but i think that would be such a cool way to share other people’s stories in a positive way! i’ll ask people to write me in the next episode!

      1. Jac says:

I totally hear you on the feeling a little weird, but I bet you will get some amazing stories out of it that people would love to hear.

  9. Kateryna says:

Don’t ever apologize for speaking your mind! You are awesome! And this subject is super relevant and it is important to talk about it. Thank you for speaking up!

    1. juli says:

      thanks for the love Kateryna!

  10. Julianne says:

Juli – I’ve followed you on and off for the last year and check into the podcast every once in a while. I’m so proud that you’ve shared your experience and thoughts here. While I love your content in the fitness and food space, I’ve gained a new level of respect for you for using your voice on something that is so important in today’s climate. Props girl 🙂

    1. juli says:

thank you so much for the kind words Julianne. That’s very sweet of you to say
