    Juli,

Thank you so much for this episode! I have been so upset over the last few weeks and it was fantastic to hear you speak up. You articulated so much of what I have been feeling.

    1. juli says:

      thank you so much Erin

  3. Sara says:

I’m a longtime reader, listener, follower of PaleOMG and I have to say thank you for using your platform to share your experience and hopefully open a few eyes to this huge issue. Keep speaking up. You go girl!

    1. juli says:

      thanks for the love Sara!

  4. Lindsey Gottardy says:

LOVE THIS. It is empowering to hear women speak up about these issues; we need more women to speak out and not be afraid to be heard. You’re a bad ass.

  5. VP says:

I’m so glad you did this podcast. And like many people said, never apologize for talking about something that matters to you and franky should matter to everyone rtght now. After the Kavvanaugh absolutely fing BS, I started listening to the audiobook The Power. It is giving me a majorly needed girl power boost, but I wish it wasn’t just a fictional story.

I’m Indian, and in recent years the stories of gang rapes in India has filled me with absolute rage. It’s horrific to know that this stuff has always happened to women, for all of time, and we’ve all been taught to keep quiet and deal with it as a normal part of life. Perhaps all of what’s happening now needs to occur to cause a change in the tide that is so badly needed.

  6. Mariah says:

You are the best! I hate politics/conflict and this topic is something I would typically avoid because of that, but you were so candid and open in this podcast, I felt like I was listening to a friend. Thank you for being real! Definitely made me think about some sketch experiences I’ve had in my life and how at one point I was actually embarrassed when I called the police about what had happened to me. This is not ok!! So thank you for talking about this and keep doing what you’re doing!!

    1. juli says:

thanks for the love Mariah! i’ve had a lot of mixed feelings about all of it over the past few weeks so i really appreciate the support!

  7. DJ says:

Male listener from Singapore here! Love how no bullshit and straightforward you are and the way you speak up. Teach those jerks to treat people how they want to be treated.

    1. juli says:

thank you so much for the kind words DJ! and thanks for being one of my few male listeners out there haha!!

  8. Jessica says:

Thank you for being SO BRAVE and speaking your truth. People like you help give women a voice! The fact that you’ve received backlash is unfortunately not surprising in today’s climate (listening to Part 2 on my way home today), but keep on fighting the good fight and inspiring others to do the same.

    1. juli says:

thank you so much for the kind words Jessica!

  9. Juliana Gildea says:

I am just catching up on your last few podcasts, so sorry for the delayed response! I have been reading your blog and listening to your podcast for some time now. I absolutely LOVE your content, and I love that from the day I started following along with your blog and IG, I new you were a strong female voice. I love that about you. I honor and respect you SO MUCH for this podcast episode. You are absolutely not alone in the rage you have felt in recent weeks! Listening to this episode lit my rage fire, brought me to tears, and reminded me I’m not alone. It’s hard to not feel defeated and powerless, but know that you are so much stronger than a bunch of over inflated bros or creepy old dudes. They don’t have the capacity for humanity and respect that you do. Keep doing you, you’re killing it !

    1. juli says:

thanks for the kind words Juliana. it’s always so nice to hear that someone else is feeling the same feelings at the moment

  10. Erin says:

Just started listening. ???????????? So much respect for you — this episode was really great. Thank you for putting it out there and nailing how most of us were feeling that week. Long time recipe lover of yours too. Basically thanks for being so awesome!
