I need to find better pictures for my eating posts. But when I try to take pictures of myself eating, it just feels weird. And looks even weirder.

I’d like to tell you about my day. Why? Because that’s what I do. I talk about my life and what I shoved in my face that day. Why? Because .006% of people care. So I cater to that percentage. It’s a good percentage.

So let’s run through my day. I told you last week that I would post a “naughty” eating day. And even though I don’t view this as super naughty, it definitely has more sugars in it than I would eat in a regular day. But sh*tballs, spin is making me hungry. Hella hungry. I think about how I’m hungry when I’m spinning. I think about how I’m hungry after I eat. Then I eat more. Then more. Then more. Burning more calories definitely makes you hungry. Imagine that.

So this is how the day panned out. I got up at about 7. Did a jig. Meaning I wiggled my pants on since it is now harder after eating it on a box jump the other day. My shin is larger than usual. Moving sucks. So I jigged on my pants, through on a shirt, and went running 2.5 miles in the rain. It wasn’t raining when I first woke up, but it definitely was when I headed out. Thankfully, I was too lazy to take off my makeup the night before, so not only did I look incredibly awkward since my running abilities lack in efficiency, but I had mascara washing down my face. Not smearing. Washing. It was quite lovely if I do say so myself. But it made me run faster. While is even more awkward.

Once I got back to the house, changing immediately since I was drenched. I made a lovely cup of coffee in my Keurig, aka my best friend. I topped my coffee off with some almond milk and 3 drops of liquid stevia. I then reheated some leftovers from the day before which included breakfast sausage and Brussels sprouts.

After I ate some grub, I turned on the tv to play the Today Show in the background while I worked on social media junk and a project I’m working on. I worked on my project for about 3+ hours before it was time to start getting ready to go to spin. So I munched on probably 5-6 plantain chips, then had ½ of a dried date filled with a little spoonful of coconut butter. After grabbing some water, I headed off the 24 hours fitness so spin away.

The class was awesome. The instructor, who at first looked like he hated everyone, turned out to be incredibly inspiring and have fantastic music to boot. So I spun away until I was absolutely drenched. And absolutely starving.

As soon as I got back to my car, I shoved down ½ of a quest bar. Have you tried these things? I’m guessing most of you haven’t. Because they are not strict paleo. But I dig them. And they are a perfect snack that doesn’t upset my stomach. So I ate ½ of one as fast as I could and put the other ½ in my purse so I wouldn’t be tempted to eat the whole thing.

Once I got home, I immediately started making lunch. I sautéed some broccoli in duck fat, then added poblano chicken sausage to the mix. I topped it off with a ¼ of an avocado. While all of that was cooking, I ate about 10-12 cherries. They were divine.

So once I finished my food, I started looking at the amazing Primal Cravings cookbook of Megan and Brandon from Health Bent. I have absolutely SO excited for this cookbook. So excited. Like, even more excited than when mine came out. But I’ve watched this blog grow, pretty much from the beginning, and they were the ones who helped me start paleo with their innovative recipes. Anywho, the more I looked at their cookbook, the hungrier I began to become. Maybe it was the spin or maybe it was the cookbook, either way I wanted cookies. So I made some.

I dug in their cookbook and found a simple coconut chocolate scout cookie. I don’t think that’s exactly what they are called, but you get my flow. They were simple on delicious. So while I made the cookies, I snacked on a maple vanilla cocoroon and some chocolate chips. More than less. And I also snacked on the batter some. I think I would have maybe made 2 more cookies if I couldn’t have eaten the batter so much. But that’s my life story.

So once the cookies went in the oven, and I finished getting ready for work, I enjoyed 1 of the actually baked cookies and packed the rest of them to go, so the boyfriend could enjoy some later. And while I headed off to work, I began to think I was some kind of genius because I thought to myself, “Juli, if you leave the container open in your car, not only will they stay delicious and not get all moist and weird (ew, moist) but they will make your car smelled like fresh baked cookies.” My incredibly intelligent brain was right. It worked.

So once I got to the gym and left the cookies behind, I coached 3 classes at the gym, then worked out after. We had hang squat snatches as our strength that day, so I dabbled with them for a while. I haven’t been able to do a power snatch or squat snatch with even just pvc pipe in months, but since I felt good in warm up, I went for it. Went for it meaning I hang squat snatched 35 pounds for 18 minutes. It was quite boring. Especially since I used to be able to do around 125 pounds. But ah well. I did it and my shoulder didn’t want to cry the next day. That’s a win in my book. And my book is the book of happiness. I’m so weird.

After we did a workout of running, hang squat snatches, and handstand push ups, I went straight to Whole Foods. Of course. I had to eat a cookie on the way there since my car smelled like bakery. And while at Whole Foods, I couldn’t really decide what sounded very good that night, so I went with the always impressive pupusa. It’s not paleo so don’t get all excited, but it’s a gluten free food that doesn’t make me sick. And it tastes AWESOME. If you don’t know what it is, it’s called Google. Duh. So I made green chile and cheese pupusas topped with sage pork breakfast patties, for the boyfriend and I. They were super good.

now how good is that picture?

Then I went to my boyfriend’s fridge and took a couple swigs of his dark chocolate almond milk. It’s so damn good.

Then I watched Gangster Squad. It has a lot of shooting in it. Geez, man.

Then I went to bed. Lovely, just lovely. Can you believe I didn’t have another cookie before bed? I’m in awe.

These daily food journals are absolutely hilarious, I love your writing style and voice. Oh, and it’s also dead useful to see what other people are eating to stay fit…so you know, your purpose is fulfilled in addition to being entertaining. 🙂 Keep on keepin’ on!
