Cherries again, Juli? Really? So creative. My b.

You guys, I shopped yesterday for jeans and found the greatest pairs ever. You have to check out my post tomorrow because they are freaking awesome and for only $50ish. I’m bouncing with excitement. Thanks for caring. Wait, you don’t? Crap.

So Jackson is getting quite clever at his age of 6 months. The other night, we left for dinner and left Jackson out of his crate which we have been doing for a while now. The only thing that has happened so far was Jackson knocked over a cup of coffee on our coffee table and licked it all up and pretty much pissed everywhere and went insane since he was bubbling up inside with caffeine. BUT, that was my fault. This time around, when we came home from dinner, we couldn’t find him for a second. Until we heard some movement on our dining table. And understand that our dining table is bar height, so it’s not a normal short table. So he hopped onto one of the high chairs, then the table, then he got stuck up there and decided to nap on the table. The poor kid didn’t know if he was in trouble or if we were impressed when we came home. He didn’t want to look us in the eye. I was honestly impressed. He’s just such a curious little guy.

Speaking of 6 months, I posted a picture on instagram of Jackson sitting on his balls. Because it was hilarious. Probably since I don’t have balls so anything with balls is just a real hoot. Anyways, after I posted that picture, people started commenting about how I need to get him neutered and the earlier the better. Here’s the thing, we’re cutting those little guys off soon, even though it’s none of their business, but you don’t see me posting on their instagram about making sure they circumcise their children. Um, no. Because that would be weird. Nor do I comment to people on the street about cutting their dog’s balls off. That would just be rude. I guess people on instagram are just weird and rude.

Man, are people going to be pissed about that last paragraph. And circumcision.

Hmmmm. How in the hell do I transition now.

I saw your instagram jeans post and I’ve never tried that brand!! Honestly, jeans might be worse to shop for than bathing suits. How the heck are there well-fitting jeans at Nords for $50?! Are they on sale or something?? I LOVE your blog-just found it last week (late to the party)…hope you come to South Florida sometime soon!

Just made these cookies and they are AMAZING!!!! It was hard to stop at two. I live on the East coast, and per the advice of Stacy yesterday I did some research on baking at different different altitudes. After adding a tad more baking soda and powder the cookies rises perfectly. Thank you so much Stacy!! The children loved the cookies too.

I can’t wait to make these! I also love the stories and pictures of Jackson. I have an 8 month old boston terrier named Jackson (we call him Jack as a nickname) and our vet actually recommended not getting him neutered until 1 year unless he has behavioral issues. This enables him to continue to develop natural hormones for as long as possible. So don’t feel bad about not having your Jackson neutered yet! I think it is more important for females to get spayed younger since you need to do it before they go into their first hear. With male dogs you can wait a little longer as long as they are healthy.

  3. Stacey says:

It’s actually the opposite for neutering (or spaying) – the later the better (http://www.akcchf.org/news-events/news/health-implications-in-early.html) there are many benefits of the dog having the hormones in their system for joint and bone development. If he is not showing any “manly” signs, there is no reason to neuter him for at least another 6 months.

I get a kick out of dogs balls too. The other day at the dog park I saw this dog with HUGE ones and I couldn’t help but laugh. I guess because, like you said, I don’t have any and all of my dogs have always been female so I’ve never really seen them. Or I’m just immature. Probably the latter.

I literally LOL’d over the balls & circumcision paragraph!! Some people just think their opinions are THAT important – a holes.
Can’t WAIT to see the jeans 🙂 Oh…and the cookies look pretty damn tasty!!

Breakfast of Champions! I just made these for breakfast with my 9 year old. I added 1/8 cup of coconut flour since I was leery about them holding together. They turned out great. THANKS for the awesome recipe.

Pumped to try this recipe! I really prefer grain-free baked goods that don’t use much (or any) alternative flours, because they come out so much more chewy without. This looks like perfection! And your fashion Friday posts make me green with style envy every week.

  8. Kate @Almond Butter Binge says:

Oooh, it’s like all of the goodness of a REALLY good, fresh chocolate-covered cherry, plus the amazingness of a chocolate chip cookie. Thank you for this!

Also, it’s no one’s business what you do with your dog’s balls, and frankly, it’s weird people are so concerned. I mean, I’m all about spaying and neutering in principle, but Jackson seems to spend more time making mischief than looking for intact ladies to impregnate (from what I can tell), so who gives a f***?

    Ugh. People.

  9. Karey @ Nutty About Health says:

People on Instagram can be so rude & hateful sometimes! Not sure why they care about your dog’s balls.. that’s his private business. 😉
These cookies look amazing! Definitely pinning these, thanks! 🙂

Heck yes! Cherries + Chocolate Chunks are the best…cannot wait to make these this weekend!!!!
