It’s like breakfast, in one bit. Genius. But really, of all the different donut recipes I’ve made, this by far is my favorite recipe. I gave these away as fast as possible so I wouldn’t eat all 6 of them I made.
So guess what’s happening soon?? Meaning tomorrow. THE NEW YEAR! OMGnewyearsresolutions. I’m not huge on New Year’s Resolutions. I am more into doing something that very minute, without thinking much about it. I tend to get myself into trouble that way, but whatevs. New Year’s Resolutions make me feel like if I don’t accomplish them, I’m a complete failure. And personally, I don’t love feeling like a failure. I’m an only child. Us only children don’t like that.
But this year, I feel like being brave. And not failing. So I’m going to make New Year’s Resolutions. Yes I am. I’m not totally sure what all these resolutions are yet, but I’m gonna pull them out of my ass. Here we go.
- Write my second cookbook. Yes, that would be wonderful. Have you heard about my first one?!
- As you know, I plan 2013 to be the year of sexy Juli. Yes. I’m going to be sexier. Not sure how. But it will include more confidence. And more clothes. And shoes. Tall shoes. Tall shoes make me feel sexy.
- Run more. I hate running. Hate it. So I’ve been running a lot more lately. I ran 5 miles the other day and literally.almost.died. Thankfully I had one of me and Sergio’s favorite songs to listen to. Love on top by Beyonce. He will never admit it out loud, but he loves it. So it made me smile and forget about my shoes filing with blood. Running is the worst.
- Be cleaner. I’ll be the first to admit it, I don’t like cleaning. Especially my room. Or bathroom. And Laura doesn’t either. So I need to get it together and act more like a Type A human. And clean. Sexy people have clean houses.
That’s all I got for now. I’ll come up with more. Don’t you worry. I’m having friends over tonight for champagne. It’s easy to come up with thing you need to work on when you’re consuming a depressant.
But with the new year sneaking up on us so quickly, I know lots of us are thinking about getting healthier. Usually our ass size along with that health. At least I do. I think about my ass size on a regular basis. Anywho, I like telling you guys about different ways to take care of yourself and your body. Because, well, gyms are expensive. Especially CrossFit gyms, which I’m super into. So I got something cool to tell you about. You excited? GET EXCITED.

I just whipped out a pan of these! (Subbed a 12-muffin tin and baked for 5 minutes longer). Ate half the pan before I remembered that there was supposed to be a coffee-chocolate topping. SO delicious!
Preordered your book this morning as well. Your website helped me fly through the Lurong challenge a couple of months ago. YOU are a paleo goddess! 🙂
How many muffins did this make? I don’t have a donut pan either 🙁
Hi, Juli! Made your chocolate waffles for breakfast this morning and they turned out perfect!
On the eve of my sugar detox start?! And I don’t have a doughnut pan to make these TONIGHT and eat them all up?! Sad, sad panda.
If I don’t have a donut pan, is there another option? I don’t start my Whole 30 til the 7th, so I have to get these babies in!
Your New Year Resolution should be a Whole 30!
Looks awesome- love your recipes and I TOTALLY plan on ordering your cookbook! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Is there any sort of guideline for substituting almond flour for coconut? I prefer the texture so much more than the coconut flour although I notice that you use coconut more often. Is this to keep your recipes nut free? Just curious! Still love them! Can’t wait for your cookbook!
not that i know of. just A LOT less coconut flour compared to almond flour. I totally understand wanting to use almond flour, i just have an allergy to nuts so I use coconut flour, but you could definitely use an almond flour in this recipe. most likely 1-1.5 cup almond flour would work!
i’m with phoebe–can you make these as muffins or something if you no have a donut-ty pan?
absolutely!!
I love everything about this post! While I’m not a coffee fan, I’m a huge chocolate, banana, and doughnut fan so if I ever get my hands on a doughnut pan I’m making these.
Husband and I are also working on keeping a clean house for 2013. We’re calling it “The year of learning to be grown ups” because we look like we live in a frat house. And sexy people have clean houses!
Made these for a news years since I have been sugar detoxing for 31 days – outstanding!!
Thank you so much for letting us know about Bodeefit-I just did the workout for today and I loved it! I’ve been home from college over break; have been majorly missing CrossFit and realized I lose the motivation to work out when there’s no one telling me what to do/it’s below freezing outside. So looking forward to Bodeefuel!
Looks absolutely delicious! I reckon I could eat about 100 of them!
