It’s like breakfast, in one bit. Genius. But really, of all the different donut recipes I’ve made, this by far is my favorite recipe. I gave these away as fast as possible so I wouldn’t eat all 6 of them I made.
So guess what’s happening soon?? Meaning tomorrow. THE NEW YEAR! OMGnewyearsresolutions. I’m not huge on New Year’s Resolutions. I am more into doing something that very minute, without thinking much about it. I tend to get myself into trouble that way, but whatevs. New Year’s Resolutions make me feel like if I don’t accomplish them, I’m a complete failure. And personally, I don’t love feeling like a failure. I’m an only child. Us only children don’t like that.
But this year, I feel like being brave. And not failing. So I’m going to make New Year’s Resolutions. Yes I am. I’m not totally sure what all these resolutions are yet, but I’m gonna pull them out of my ass. Here we go.
- Write my second cookbook. Yes, that would be wonderful. Have you heard about my first one?!
- As you know, I plan 2013 to be the year of sexy Juli. Yes. I’m going to be sexier. Not sure how. But it will include more confidence. And more clothes. And shoes. Tall shoes. Tall shoes make me feel sexy.
- Run more. I hate running. Hate it. So I’ve been running a lot more lately. I ran 5 miles the other day and literally.almost.died. Thankfully I had one of me and Sergio’s favorite songs to listen to. Love on top by Beyonce. He will never admit it out loud, but he loves it. So it made me smile and forget about my shoes filing with blood. Running is the worst.
- Be cleaner. I’ll be the first to admit it, I don’t like cleaning. Especially my room. Or bathroom. And Laura doesn’t either. So I need to get it together and act more like a Type A human. And clean. Sexy people have clean houses.
That’s all I got for now. I’ll come up with more. Don’t you worry. I’m having friends over tonight for champagne. It’s easy to come up with thing you need to work on when you’re consuming a depressant.
But with the new year sneaking up on us so quickly, I know lots of us are thinking about getting healthier. Usually our ass size along with that health. At least I do. I think about my ass size on a regular basis. Anywho, I like telling you guys about different ways to take care of yourself and your body. Because, well, gyms are expensive. Especially CrossFit gyms, which I’m super into. So I got something cool to tell you about. You excited? GET EXCITED.

I made these for a party last night. I didn’t have a donut pan so I made cupcakes, they were delicious! I was asked for the recipe multiple times, by non paleo people. They were a total hit and I will be making them again. 🙂
Geezy Louisy, I would like seven right now please (says the girl who is having zero sugar for 45 days.) Ahh well. I’ll have the coffee now and the donut then. Your resolutions are stellar ~
Just made these donuts. My kids love them! I used a Wilton donut pan and got two batches (12 total) out of this recipe! Pleasantly surprised, seeing as I am feeding eight people LOL
Made these for my family New Years Day morning and they LOVED them. My husband said definately a keeper recipe and ate 2. My kids each ate 2 and had the other 2 last night. Mine made a total of 8. I haven’t tried them yet as I started a Whole 30 but I guarantee you this will be the first breakfast I make on day 31!
I haven’t made these yet, but they look amazing and I can’t wait to try this out. I just had to comment because your commentary made me laugh so hard. I also struggle very much with running and cleaning. Good luck to us both for a sexy, clean, 2013.
just made these as mini muffins–because i don’t have no donut-ty pan–and the first batch was a little wet. i added 1.5 T. more flour to the remaining dough, and they puffed up more like donut holes!
i think these are a little sweet, even for a certified sweet nut like me! is the honey necessary? i don’t understand the science of baking, just the instructions. i do as i’m told, unless i get permission.
so? can i cut the honey out?
Hi there,
I tried these with medjool dates… maybe they are too big? The recipe didn’t work out that great for me – a bit wet.
Thanks!!
Cathy- I used medjool dates also and mine turned out great, but I did get 8 donuts.
Mine also turned out wet. They actually didn’t become doughnuts at all which was depressing. 🙁
Hi there, just found you and am loving your sense of humor 😉
A quick note on how to feel/be more sexy – get rid of your “house” clothes and replace them with beautiful silk and satin nighties and PJ’s. I promise that when you are at home lounging in something shiny and soft you will just feel sexy – you will even move sexier, even first thing in the morning! After the birth of our 3rd baby my husband asked if he could exchange equal numbers of of what he called “frumpy” clothes for sexy ones. It was hard to let go of those items – especially not feeling pretty (just had said baby) but this really fixed me right up. Its been 8 years now and I only wear things like this at home, now it is a very sexy house 😉
First post.. I have to admit.. this was an incredible recipe. Love dark chocolate.I am definitely eager to try out more stuff you have on here!
Hi Juli!
