Thank goodness for my friend Heather or I would have no pictures to put on my random blog posts. I wish I had one of me eating. REALLY weird that I don’t. And disappointing. I’ll eat in more public places from now on. With a camera man by my side.
I don’t know if you care about what I eat, but I’m going to put it out there anyways. A couple people have asked what I eat on a daily basis, especially during CrossFit competition season, so I thought I’d share. I eat different every day, depending on what I’ve made that week for my blog or what I have on hand for random crap that wasn’t worth posting. I make a lot of random burgers when I don’t know what to make.
My breath smells like onions.
Ok, so this day of meals is from Wednesday. My schedule is really weird being a coach and having to blog/cook at random times of the day so I tend to eat at awkward times as well. Be prepared to be bored!
- 4:15am- wake up time- usually will have a cup of coffee
- 5:30am- coaching
- 6:30am- breakfast–> ~4oz leftover chicken breast, 6-7 large strawberries, 1 grande americano with heavy cream (probably drank 2/3 of it)
- 7:15-10am- coaching
- 10:30am- workout + strength session
- 11:45am- protein drink (I do about 6-8 oz water with 1/2 scoop Simply Pure Nutrients Recovery Fuel)
- 12:00pm- made food for the day — snacked while I cooked–> 1.5 pieces bacon, 1-2 oz beef, handful of walnuts
- 1:30pm- lunch–> ~3-4oz grass fed beef, 1/4 onion caramelized, 1 piece of bacon, 1/2 small avocado
- 3:00pm- 2nd workout + muscle up practice
- 4:00-8:00pm- coaching
- 8:30pm- dinner–>2 southwest turkey sliders and a bit of slaw
- 10:00pm- late night snacks while I blog–> 3 strawberries, some walnuts, 1 southwest slider

Wow. You bored yet? Me too. All that food looks like dog doo doo. I get lazy with my camera phone when the food looks like poo. And I have shaky hands. I’m a nervous person. Not really.
So, got any questions? Are you thinking…”Say wha?! This Juli chick is effing whack” or “I can’t believe this girl drinks protein shakes! I thought she called herself paleo?! Fraud!” or “OMG I can’t believe she eats past 7pm! She sucks at life” Don’t worry people, I know. But I would definitely love to hear from you no matter what you have to say!

Dear JB – just found your blog, just started crossfit, just started paleo, and I love all three of these things — even though crossfit and eating paleo are taking quite a bit of work (reading your blog is fun and easy and inspiring). Thanks for sharing your recipes and meals. I share your love of nut butters; Nutella is my boyfriend.
Lol looks like we are sharing the same boyfriend 😉 what a bastard
Never mind the eats – I am personally baffled as to how you can survive on so little sleep!
You may not think it but your meals – as always – looks delish! Thanks for sharing. Nice to get an insight into a food day in the life of Juli.
haha Thanks Cathy!! Yeah, I wish I slept more. It’s a bummer
I wasnt sure where to post on i also posted on facebook i hope you can help im new about a 5 weeks and only lost 6pd i dont know who to listen to anymore if im eating too much fruit or snacks or treats. i work out 3 days a week. i need advice please i need to lose 40pds by aug 24 can this be done? i LOVE your blog. and yesterday i made your banana bread french toast and the caramel bars. and ate half of each. i wish that was a joke/ over exageration but sadly its not…. LOVE your food… but where your veggies girl??!!
haha I eat them, just not a ton, my body doesn’t process them very well
love your blog thingamajig…. love your recipes… my frineds and family think i am an awesome cook, when i whip these new meals on them… YOU are my little secret…..good luck with open wod’s. i am trying my first one today in PA
Glad you’re liking the recipes Rhonda!
It looks fantastic….especially that bacon, avo burger! I actually expected to see more food than that with all of the workouts you do. Maybe I’m just eating too much! LOL! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your recipes!
Glad you like the recipes Shanna. I’ve found if I eat much more, I gain weight pretty easily. Lame sauce
Yes! My husband always gives me crap about my “no dairy except in my coffee” rule (he always wants to put cheese on everything and when I tell him I don’t want it he says “You eat dairy…you put heavy cream in your coffee!”) I’ll tell him JB does it and it’ll shut him up!! P.S. I agree with the sleep comment…how are you not a zombie?!
I usually have coconut milk in my coffee that I make at home but always get heavy cream in it when I buy coffee somewhere. And I wish I had more sleep, I’m still young so I guess I can get away with it for now lol
I have to agree with one of the ladies above….where are your veggies???
Thanks for sharing your food log with us. I am one week into Crossfit (finally!) WHOOP!! And am loving it!! 🙂
Thanks for the post!
Again, I don’t eat a ton of veggies because I gain weight easily, but I love them and still do consume them
I’m just curious why you avoid vegetables. I always thought with the paleo diet encouraged eating raw vegetables as much as you wanted and that it wouldn’t make you gain weight. Enlighten me, please :)…
It is definitely encouraged and won’t necessarily make you gain weight. i have just come to find that if i stick with mostly protein and fat, i feel much better and no quite as bloated as i do when i eat veggies
I think it’s AWESOME you eat past 7pm. I work till 11 pm and feel guilty eating then but I am usually starving at that point and can’t get a good night’s sleep without it. I thought holy crap look how many calories you are burning through the day! Thanks for the daily meal! Nice to compare to.
Cherie, I ate at 2 in the morning last night because I was starving lol. You’re not alone
Juli.
I know you love your nuts (HAHA, that looks/sounds funny), but I worry about your omega 6 intake.
Lol thanks for worrying about me Pat
We all like to see what someone else is doing to be successful at that which we want to be successful. Not boring at all.
I said this to you the other day – you eat an amazingly small amount, especially for your level of activity. I would keel right over. Your protein looks to be around 110 grams in that meal up there. Would one more protein shake make sense in order to get your protein level a bit higher? Or do you think that additional protein just becomes fat?
Agreed re the vegetables.
Keep it up – this is a great bog!
I just consume 3-4oz of protein per meal and 1-2oz per snack. I just don’t want to be consuming that many protein shakes in a day, it just weirds me out
